Some of you will remember me though its been awhile. I used to be pretty active in the LS community. I had a beautiful 02 V6 LSE, pretty rare LSE and I enjoyed it a ton. I remember a few of you guys and glad to see the community is still going strong.

Not sure if you guys remember but I did a pretty detailed interview with Lou (QuikLS) it was insightful and if you haven't read it yet I strongly suggest you check it out. Any LS fan should read it. Link here.

Anyways I was missing a nice Luxury car and so I went looking. Now I was born and raised a Ford/Lincoln man. Every car I have ever owned but 2 were Fords or Lincolns. My two favorite cars I ever owned were an 83 Mark and the 02 LSE. Well the dealer suggest I drive a Cadillac and see if I like it (insert gasp). So there was a 2007 Cadillac DTS Luxury II that they just got on trade in, in fact they hadnt even cleaned it yet.

I took it out for a drive and was blown away by how smooth and comfortable the ride was. The special features on this car are insane. After two days of arguing price I got it for 4K under blue book and am now the owner of that DTS.

I realize I had an 02 Lincoln so it was 5 years older than the DTS but the DTS is light years not 5 years ahead of the LS. Obviously it has leather and power seats, seat memory etc but here is a list of the other stuff on the car.

Steering Wheel Heated
Front and Rear Heated Seats
Front Seats Cooled
Rear Seat Power Controlled Lumbar
Front Seats Massaging Lumbar
Power Rear Window Shade
Navigation/DVD Player
Fold in Side Mirrors with Turn Signals
Front and Rear Parking Sensors
Remote Start

There are a ton of items that I havent listed as well but figured I would cover the stuff I really enjoy.

Anyways I still do miss the LSE I had it for years but this is a step up for sure. I am glad to be back on LVC and hope everyone is doing well. Below should be some pictures as well, I will try and get better pictures when I have time.

thanks guys

LLOYD

Im sure anything would be better than driving that Juke around... :D

Not mine, its my wifes. That car is definetly a womens car for sure :)

She is 6 months pregnant and I told her we needed a bigger car for the baby. So that was also a great selling point.

Nice Caddy! Ive liked dts/dhs since i first saw ludacris' video Saturday.

Thats a big blue frog in the garage. Might wanna shoot it with a shotty, make sure its dead

Buy stock in an oil company. That Northstar uses (or leaks) it almost as quickly as gas. You know, you've got to be over 65 to drive one of those?

Nice looking Caddy and welcome back.

Just going to say that it wouldn't be my first choice but I could see myself driving one of them if it was black on black and cave mode windows.

Welcome back for sure... Lac looks nice, I shopped around for one of those but got the LS. :D

Most if not all of those things you listed come in a loaded 06 LS :p

that is one heavy chevy for sure, not too bad looking for a land yach. quite a big difference from a LS im sure.

nice find.

"Cadillllac is the standard of the world"

I've never been satisfied with 'standard', I've always wanted deluxe. So I drive a Lincoln!:D

Welcome back!

why not the STS, almost as big, looks 10x better

And its also RWD not wrong wheel drive. And can be found supercharged.

I love the DTS on the inside and its nice on the outside but the engine is a bitch to work on. But i hope the car is reliable and good to you.

Any mods?

thanks for all input guys. Here are my responses.

Already had 3rd party mechanic check it out and no oil leaks or anything so I should be good.

I went with the DTS due to size and comfort.

The DTS has enough horse power for me (much more then my LS did) and its not a race car. Its a Luxury car.

I dont plan on modding it as I like it the way it is but I guess we will see.

I have a baby on the way and money will probably go towards that :)

P.S. Does the GEN II LS have massaging chairs?

In terms of mods i would not do much to it either.

They already sit low from the factory so i would just put bigger wheels on it. 19's or 20's for sure with that long wheel base and large wheel wells.

In terms of horsepower it makes the same as the GEN II V8 LS does. The Gen II does not have massaging seats but it has heated and cooled fronts and heated rear seats.

I also like how HID's are standard on them.

alrighty, good info. TBH I loved my LSE but I wanted a bigger luxury vehicle.

Good to see you back Lloyd. I recall some of your posts and felt you added good topics/ideas to the discussion.

As far as the car goes, however, I just think the DTS is plain ugly. The way they did the front grill, headlamps, and lower valiance is a design mess. The rest of the cars appearance is plain boring. The rear end is its best feature :shifty:

At least on the second gen CTS they pulled it together in a much cleaner fashion.

Thats a little harsh.

Out of the three, i like the STS the most.
