HID Retrofit

yes and no. as far as them blinding people, thats only if you are a jackass and aim the headlights into the trees. i have converted abouth 12 first gen mark VIII's to HID and never even got a high beam flash from an oncoming car ever. if you aim them correctly you have no problems. the ones that blind you are the dickheads with the 12,000k or brighter kits that would blind stevie wonder.

+1

While there is a diference in beam pattern with a HID bulb in a halogen reflector with them aimed correctly there is not much difference at all in glare to oncoming drivers and a big difference in usable light on the road for the driver.

I'd sign a petition to get HID lamps outlawed. I am sick and tired of approaching those damn things and getting blinded. They are a danger to all other drivers. If I ever met the designer of those in a dark alley....

:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

That is a riot!

Mark lights are soooOOOooOoOo bright that they would blind anyone :)

Although I dislike the higher color temperature kits for looking too ricer, wtf does that have to do with brightness? The higher temperature ones actually produce LESS light output.

i'll tell you wtf is has to do with it, those are the same dickheads who set their adjustment screws to the " shine in oncoming traffic " setting, not only is the color disturbing to look at, but they aim them high and in your face.and they usually have them in the low beam, the high beam, the fog lights, and the other fog lights.

I like JAMIE's advice. AND that's exactly what he suggested we do to my 95 if I ever get my health problems in check. THE REAL BRIGHT ONES RUIN IT FOR EVERYBODY. "DICKHEADS"!!! Jamie you crack me up. But according to the PUNCH BUGGY COMMERCIALS with TRACY MORGAN,,"STEVIE" may not be blind.

I ordered an HID Conversion Kit from HID Solutions last week. After all of the discounts, I paid about $225 for it. I should be getting it either sometime this week or next week.

As far as I know, the kit includes the bulbs, adapters, ballasts, and whatever else is required. Hey, at least I didn't order that $400 kit from Reinhart.

I haven't gotten it yet because the kit is still getting made. It better work well. The reason why I went for that kit was because I had heard that the cheaper kits available elsewhere online would not work as well, so I didn't go for it. On the other hand, maybe I should have gone with the homemade adapters that a member on a related board made. Oh well. As long as it works, I'll be happy.

You would be signing that petition alone.

"I wear my sunglasses at night"

Why don't you work on a petition to allow us to have tinted windows the way we want them tinted. More of us would appreciate that.

If you ever buy a car from Jamie, make sure to check the headlights because he'll send you home in the dark with them aiming right down on the bumpers. :p I drove home in the rain or some of the way and couldn't see :q:q:q:q and didn't know why until I got home and seen that he had them aimed for finding eye contacts 2 ft. in front of the car. Dickhead, 12,000K ain't no brighter that 6,000K. The (K) is for the Kelvin. Kelvin adds more color but I know what you're saying. You meant the ass holes that have colored lights that aim them up in the sky to be noticed and blinding everyone at the same time. I can assure you, you ain't one of them ass holes with the way you aim headlights. I had to remove the sun visor and velcro my forehead to the top of the roof just to make it home that night. I felt like Stevie Wonder

Hi,

I thought that I'd post an update to my situation with the kit I ordered from HID Solutions. As of last week, they still had not showed up. They were listed as shipped from HID Solutions on March 2, but the tracking number from USPS doesn't list it as having left the post office. I'm really aggravated by this because I told them I needed the kit in my hands by last weekend so that I could have the kit installed when I left home for Spring Break. I asked HID Solutions to get USPS to put a trace on it. Hopefully, this will turn out OK. I wish that they would give me a refund so that I can just get a different HID kit and some adapters from elsewhere. It would be cheaper and still be as effective.

That sucks to hear, i was very surprised when my cheap azz kit showed up the next night at 9pm.........all the way from Bangkok!!!!

I hope that I'm not on the hook for $230 because I just went on their website, and they stated that they are not responsible for any loss that may occur through shipping, and that any mention of insuring the package should have been made upon ordering. The only thing is that there was no mention of order insurance on their order page. Hopefully, this will work itself out.
