Just g0t a new paint j0b....

i'm offended...i used a can of Krylon to spray the back of my fish tank and it looks great with no orange-peel what-so-ver but it does not have a reflection, which was my intention ;) :D

Both of you should have just used a roller:D

Could you not afford Clear Coat? Or is that just a Maaco entry level paint job?

I was gonna say Earl Scheib. Looks like the bad job I got there when I had my 82' Olds. 98.

well actually he told me that i have to wait 3 weeks before he can wet sand it.. and im actually getting a red-pearl clear coat added to it... is there a reason i have to wait 3 weeks??

well thanks for the input i wish you could give me more input considering on improving the paint job as far as the wet sanding process etc.. thanks

To give the paint time to cure, I'd guess is his reasoning? Probably look ok once it's all done. (I hope...)

I dont know what he is talking about. I used Duplicolor rattle can stuff to paint my car. I waited a couple hours to wet sand and clear coat. You be the judge. Before and after:

I dont know why someone would do that to that car. Looks awful......

There are few like those with even ulgier 22's in south florida. At least this one looks ok uh? yeah...aha.. but the ones i've seen here LS owners should be shot :p

You shouldn't have to wait 3 weeks for clear. 1 week would be the most I would wait before clear. Also do not drive the car because you run a real big chance of any dirt, chips, or bug guts under the clear. No matter how much you clean the car before the car is cleared there will still be something under it.

If the painter is putting a pearl in the clear make sure he puts down at least 3-4 coats of straight clear over the pearled clear so you can wet-sand and buff without sanding into the pearl.

I never heard bull like that. You wet sand as part of the process not weeks later and they dont let the car go without the clear if its getting shot with clear or the paint WILL get ruined then leaving it pointless to protect it with clear.

Wait for clear? LMAO!!!!!!

The car should be etch primed, build primed, sanded, based, and cleared all within days! The base and clear should be shot BACK TO BACK within hours of each other not days!!!

Sorry but horrible paint job! I would demand my money back AND pursue making the painter PAY for a real paint job.

You can wait days between base and clear for purposes of doing graphics, pinstiping, and air-brushing, but no the car should not have left the shop.

Maybe so, but the car should stay in the both the whole time after base. Every hour you wait after base is just collecting dust, condensation, and harmful contaminants which can fish eye react, or reject the clear. Base is very touchy and soaks up everything it come in contact with and is pretty much impossible to get out cleanly.

Well their actually I'd clear on it.. I have to wait to get it wet sanded and he's also going put the red pearl in that process.. But their is currently clear coat on it......

There's no good reason to wait three weeks for wet sand between clear coats. And even an initial clear shouldn't look that rough. I hope it turns out well, I really do... but the initial thought is "damn, this is not going to go well".

Then your f*cked cause I can tell you that orange peel is under the clear if it really does have it.

idk what it looked like before i dont like the paint, the white and dark dont mix very well to me, id prefer a grey and black if two toned... lose the 22's foreal, those have got the be the most jagged and rugged rims ive ever seen, id hate myself for spending money on those, i assume the interior is very nice :shifty: otherwise..wtf?

give the guy a break. He's obviously real young, and has no concept of unsprung weight, taste, and resale values. Word.
