I ran my Cobra on everyday tires, since you are such a pro you tell me what they were and they were not Dr's or slicks. I saw a post awhile ago where you were asking how to launch your Ls, Looking for the right Rpm's. So I doubt you know anything about a 9 second car let alone a 7 second car.
I see that it took you a while to look around on the internet and see that no one actually makes a 19" DR, ET Street, ET Drag, or slick... I was wondering if you were going to fall into that trap.
Here are a few reasons why I know that you are full of crap:
1) 9 second Cobra running 9's on 19" rims...Not happening...
2) 9 second Cobra running 9's on regular street tires...No way in hell
3) 9 second Kenne Bell Cobra running 9's on 19" rims w/ street tires...
Now if you had said you ran 9's in a turbocharged Cobra with 19's on it then I maaaaay have believed you. The reason being is that they don't usually launch as hard but are able to pull so hard on the back end of the track, once they already have traction, that they can sometimes bust a 9 second ET even with a not-so-pretty 60'. Now a Kenne Bell Cobra has to be launched different alltogether. The KB's build most of their power off the line and mid range and start giving up ever so slightly on the bigend. This means that not only is it hard as hell to launch them (huge traction issues) but if you do not launch them well then your ET will be severely hurt. This is because it will not be able to make it up on the back end as much as the turbo car will.
As for your attempt to flame lincoln00...Well every car is different and likes to be launched and driven different. Some cars when stock will bog when not launched from high rpm, others will hook, and others may even spin. How you have to drive the car at the track is dependent upon so many variables I will not even bother to get into it in full detail. It was smart of lincoln00 to ask for advice on how to launch the car as it will only allow him to attain better ET's faster. That translates into hitting new best times with less track time invested. Anyone who has ran into the 9's would know that different cars prefer to be driven different ways.
Just give it up. I know these cars inside and out and there is no way in gods green earth that you ran a Kenne Bell Cobra into the 9's on 19" rims w/ regular street tires on it. It is laughable to even try to lay claim to something like that. Hell, you would be very lucky to bust 10's with that rim/tire combo.
I really hate to flame someone in this forum but I cannot stand people to lie to others. Doesn't say much about their character.
