I am contemplating on adding some Lambo doors to my Mark VIII. It will be a complete show car in about a year, give or take a month or two.

it actaully does not look all that bad! i thought lambo doors would look kind of weird on a mark viii

Lambo doors actually look pretty good on the big body coupe mark viii...

I would LOVE to put Lambo doors on my mark, but honestly if I had the $1500 it cost I'd prob just repaint it and put on the LMS MAF and exhaust.

I think lambo doors belong on a lambo. Suicide doors are the way to go, at least 4 me.

That looks pretty cool.... does anyone have any pics of a mark with suicide doors??? I think that would look pretty killer too....

LIES i wanted to be the first to put lambo doors on the m8!!!
oh well
if you do dont do it half ass get the 130* kit not 90* kit
and shaved door handles and automatic w/ poper and

those look sweet but i dont like how they point straight up.

FOR ME...PERSONALLY...
THE DOORS ARE NOT ADDING UP EQUALLY STREIGHT AS IN STREIGHT UP from lincoln boy says ...YOU SEE MORE OF THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR INTERIOR, THEN BOTH SITTING STREIGHT UP BASIED ON THAT ANGLE

SORRY LINNCONBOY YOU NEEDD TO MAKE SURE FROM WHAT EVER ANGLE YOU TAKIN PIC FROM THE PASS SIDE IS EQUAL FROM THE DRIVER SIDE. WHEN UP..I SEE TOO MUCH INTERIOR FROM MY ANGLE

JUST BY CHANCE WHAT ARE THE PRO'S N CONS FOR HAVING LAMBO DOORS? ANYWAYS FOR THIS CAR's MAKE N MODEL..and can they be easily changed back to original...for old time sake conversation, since some people are changing the look of it??

So lets get this straight..... They put over 10k in customized/specialty parts for this car but yet they couldnt even have replaced those fogged out headlights? That would have been the first thing on my list.

How much Lbs are mark viii doors? if that kid fails you could loose a leg.

And it has happened. Several of these kits have faced recalls for dropping down out of nowhere and hurting people.

Pros:

* Possible increase in style
* No limitations on door opening due to side clearance

Cons:

* Many of these kits fail and hurt people
* Opening the door can be very difficult due to the orientation of the door (you are pushing it up)

Just keep one thing in mind here. There is only one reason why Lambos and other exoticars use this style of door, and that reason is, a flaw in the design of the car.

When Lambo put together the Diablo, they found that they had to place the engine on top of the transaxle, as they had no room to put it anywhere else. The result was a very high center of gravity, so they made the car as wide as possible to gain back stability. The result of that was there was no room for the doors to open to the side. They had to make them open upwards.

Just about every mid engine exoticar out there has this same issue, or is just incredibly wide for other reasons. Either way, it was never born as a design cue, but out of necessity.
