Lincoln LS 3.0 to 3.9 Conversion?

What's that supposed to mean? I'm new.. And fresh LSE btw.

thats not an LSE.. you must really be new, not only to the site but to the world of the LS.. lol

see the links on the top? "home" forums "photo garage" etc.. click the one that says search, and then search for the topic your looking for. the subject of 3.0 to 3.9 has been discussed alot before.. if you search you will find many threads on this..

Fellas, is it that hard to say go to your local hardware store and find a for sale sign and buy one with a 3.9L. If it were me I would have bought one with the V8. Unless yours took a poo and you need to swap motors but even then why not?

only, lol .. what year is then car? i hope you have money saved for repairs.. you may spend more on repairs in the next 2 years with that kind of mileage than you paid for the car..

these are not hondas or toyotas people.. these cars do not age well.. and repairs are expensive.. if you buy an old one with 100k+ miles expect to run into issues

2003, it just had the first set of plugs go bad, so I guess it's a pretty clean burning car. It's got new catalytic converters too.

Another member showed us the above site for help. We're not being jerks it's just a new member sort of thing we try to beat in early to get them on the right track.

Although different generation, this thread may tickle your fancy.

Lets salvage this thread, we like pics here. The more the better. If the cats have just been replaced, then the spark plugs "went bad" then what I can conjure from this site, replace all the COPS and the spark plugs.

Also, is that Elkhart, IN by chance?

I guess I'll post a dirty picture. (Shortly after I got it) That is if y'all can tell me how. And no I live in Elkhart, TX. Most cars around here are Chevy 1500s and Cummins... Redneck stuff about 3 feet off the ground, so I've kinda gotta rarety.

Don't know if you have enough posts to post pics, but see the IMG code on the right side of the screen...use that. Also, you can edit posts instead of creating new ones. Hey at least it looks good in that pic.

yea it looks good..

id be more concerned about getting that chrome on the bumper and grille and plate surround painted the color of the car, and some new wheels, before you go replacing the engine..

unless of corse the engine is not running.. but it is running..
dont fix what isnt broken? i only live by that sometimes but thought id throw it out there haha

Yeah I'll get this all figured out eventually... But you see the dirt bike? Yeah I paid more for that.. Down here LSs are going for 7000 just for regular ones.. Nobody's seen enough to tell the differences between an LS and an E. Not too bad for a first car though, hmm?

I'm thinking I'm going to get the reconditioned and primered 06 bumpers they're selling on Ebay for $350. Paint is the real money blower.. I've got no idea how much that'll cost. And within the next month I'm getting slotted rotors ($180) because my brakes suck. And while they're off, I'm repainting the calipers red... Brembos on a budget. :)

where i live it cost me 300 to have an ls front bumper painted the color of the car.. and that included some prep work.. if i had a pre primed bumper ready to go it would be a little less.. but thats here in farm town illinois lol stuff is cheaper here

That's dirt cheap... around here atleast. But yeah I just started paying full coverage on it, but it takes 90 days to kick in. So what I was thinking was, since its got this crack in it from hitting a pothole, I'm gonna say it just happened.
