Hi guys I want to know who would be interested in buying bushings for their suspension on their LS if they were available. I emailed Doug from Delrin Bushings about the possibility of producing some for the LS. Here's his response to me.

In order to develop suspension bushings, I'd first have to determine if it's even feasable.

Are there any threads with really good pictures of the suspension?

Assuming it's possible, I'd need a car for at least 4 weeks.

A week or so to disassemble, design, and prototype.

2 weeks to produce (spacers have to be sent out to be hardcoat anodized after they're made).

1 week to assemble and test.

I'm willing to drive up to Jersey from Va to let him experiment. I just want to get a consensus on who would interested (quite sure most if not everyone would). If you have some good pics up close of the suspension, please post them here so he can take a look and try to determine if it would be worth it. I'm willing to let him use my car as the guinea pig in which if it's a success, it can benefit every LS owner in the land. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Get me some pics. ;)

I'd like to see if it's even possible, and how much interest there is.

Are the bushings the same for all years, all models? That piece is key to getting a group buy going. If not he would need specs on all models or else the benefits would be limited.

I'm interested in a set for when mine wear out.

i would definitely be interested... can you find out a ballpark figure? that is my only stipulation...

Precisely which bushings are we talking about? You seem to be talking about delrin sleeves in aluminum carriers, or your comment regarding anodizing leaves me confused.

At this point, the rear lower control arms.

Actually, it's hardcoated aluminum sleeves in delrin bushings.

But, since I've never even seen a LS LCA, it's all speculation at this point, until I get some good pictures of the suspension or actually get my hands on a lower control arm.

I would definitely be interested as I need my rear lower control arm bushings replaced now.

Only one I got.

Can't really see the bushing from this view. Oh well!

I would have really been intested a few weeks ago when I replaced everything in the front and the rear of the Ls.

Sorry, but I am not going to spend the money again to put some urathane bushings after paying prem. price for the crappy rubber mounts.lol I would be intested if they go out again for sure (it is a matter of time and I dont think it will be that long before they wear out according to the record that they hold)

Oh, with the prices that the parts run, I would think that it would be a great idea to send a car up there. The suspension stuff is outragiously expensive for a car as old as these. There should be some type of options.

Is there any development to this?

I have yet to be provided with either an actual lower control arm or at least a decent picture. :(

Until I get something to look at, I don't know if it's even feasible.

I am real in. I am in real need of my rear lower control arms. :q:q:q:q it! im in need of all my 4 lower control arms. What i need are the bushings, but from my knowledge with my LS i have it understood that the bushings come with the whole control arm which is a (DEALER ONLY PART) and there is a company named MOOG that also supplies aftermarket suspension parts but still pretty expensive. ANYWHO THIS IS A PIC OF THE LOWER CONNTROL ARM

How much are the stock or replacement control arms?

That's the rear lower control arm? Interesting that there are three bushings in the control arm. According to the factory repair manual, it looks like the outer bushing, where the knuckle mounts, is a cross axis joint and wouldn't be replaceable with Delrin.

How is camber adjusted on the rear suspension?

It would appear that replacement Delrin bushings could be made for the inner two bushings. If so, then a set of four Delrin replacement bushings (for both rear lower control arms) would probably cost somewhere around $300.

Has anyone who has replaced their rear lower control arms got pictures of the mounting tabs where the control arms bolt to the chassis?

Now if someone with the cash would just let me have their car, or preferably, an old pair of lower control arms, for a few weeks.......

The lower control arm can be purchased for 196.45 per side and that includes bushings.

Pretty much. If you had a front control harm, could you develop a bushing for it also? What I'm thinking about doing is going to a salvage yard and getting a front and rear control arm, lower. That shouldn't be too expensive.
