Lincoln LS Drift Build

Very nice thread and build. Cool to see something different. Do the forum a favor and keep posting.

Side note: the telephone poles were giving me anxiety in the videos, but I'm assuming you're really good at what you do and those are harmless.

Had my first official event, Drift Indy No Star Bash. Learned a ton about myself as a driver and also found a few weak spots within the build, mostly power steering and suspension. A few good videos and pictures, and the first ever lincoln lincoln tandem.

Installed a huge power steering cooler, wrapped my headers in titanium exhaust wrap to help keep temps down, and also a new oil cooler. Went out to drive Riverside Drift Round #3 Summer Throwdown for drift games and tandem comp!

Ended up winning the parking drift "flip a bitch" contest! Not super exciting, but pretty hard to do in a car this big!

Went on to the tandem competition and ended up qualifying 8th!

After qualifying I won the next 3 battles and went on to battle for second against my friend and pro licensed driver Mike Feiock who was actually driving a friends car due to his having engine failure earlier in the day.

He ended up beating me but it was a hell of a ride, I gave her all shes got! Still ended up with 2nd and a killer trophy.

So this Lincoln LS beat about 22 other proven drift chassis!

Was able to qualify first and finish 2nd at the next riverside round! I ended up loosing an oil line and catching on fire for the battle for first, but got some killer footage. Check it out.

Any suggestions on what color to paint this thing?

I’m indifferent on colors but definitely am against loud colors, especially on the LS (orange, lime green etc that you see on challengers), but I do think the LSE bumper would make her look more “driftish”.

And holy negative camber Batman on that Nissan in the first pic! Did that thing make it through the event?

If your trying to go all out house of Kolor brandy wine with a silver base or just a red in general the factory red looks bad ass

Hey Guys, it has been a while since any updates!
Another great year with the LS LS

Drove 4 competition events this year and Podiumed on 3. Finished third at those three events.

Installed a wings west lip kit, and had some halo lights made (Manual Roman)

The comp event that I did not win was a very fast street event in kentucky, actually wrecked the car in early morning practice, bent my rear toe arm, my knuckle and my rear subframe. Managed to get it fixed enough to qualify on a bad alignment and make it to top 8 where I was knocked out.

Event made for some killer media though!

Is that last one a video link? Am I the only one who can get embedded videos to play?

Videos always load as a linkless image for me the first time every time. Refreshing the page fixes it. I've noticed that for years, even when it was still vBulletin

Well since it has been radio silence for a while I figured it was time for an update on here!
In 2021 I got a job offer to be a mechanic for an Indy Lights team, which moved me to North Carolina for the year while my wife held down the shop with our cars for the year. Late 2021 I moved back home with the team but managed to stockpile some money while I was away.

I bought and had an LS3 built (always wanted an ls3 in this car) Target goal was 550HP N/A

Had my sights set on an event in July, a drift event for $50k prize, but I wanted to do a little bit more than just an engine swap. I also wanted to change from HP Tuners over to a full Holley Standalone with a digital dash. Also changed my fuel cell over to a nice fuelsafe system with an in take surge tank.

Got the engine in about (3) weeks before the event and Holley wired up, also had to make a new exhaust as this engine flows more and would be restricted by the size pipe I used on the 5.3. I used 1-7/8th headers to 4" pipe with a 4" resonator/muffler *car is still out*.
I had to completely make these headers, bought a foxbody mustang kit and cut every single tube and rewelded them at new angles. It sucked and took about a week each side.

The other big item was the appearance of the car I really wanted to change it up to a more aggressive look and make the car black.
I paid a designer while I was in NC to make some renders of various wheels so that when I got back I could try and make the car come to life.

291763511_10227788464832849_618635031589997866_n.jpg

This is the final design of what I wanted and now it was time to make it come to life!
Started by buying the wheels, used (5x114.3 and ran adapters) and found a set of flares I wanted to use from Clinched Flares.

We did all of the bondo sanding and prep work and with 1 week to spare my wife painted the car (and hers) while I was away at a race for my job.
So stoked with how the car ended up and so sick to see a dream come to reality!

Now for the event post!
I can spoil the ending and say I didn't win the money heh, but, as far as I am concerned with the time I had to prep this car (and my wifes because she competed as well) I personally won, and I am so stoked on how our cars performed.

Checkout my full recap video of the vent so I don't ware out my fingers typing the novel that was that event!

(Please like comment and subscribe I am trying to grow my channel!)

Here are some pics from the event!

And this final video is for you guys.
Wanted to do some cool roller shots of how the car looks.

As well as give a better overview than I can do typing on this forum.

Nice! I was thinking it was a new car, cool to see its the same one. I took a note on the 2018 Charger Police fan being brushless with ~14a startup. Did you cut into the quarter and door to give clearance for the rear wheels?

Yes I had to cut quite a bit.
