Lincoln LS SVT?

This thread is full of fap.

I wouldn't want to be a pioneer, but if it was good reliable knowledge involved; I'd be ballz deep.

I have already decided, that either my 02 is going to be swapped for an 06', or that she's gonna become a drifter when she enters "daily driver retirement." This thing is sweet for kicking sideways. Thank you 16'!

SVT LS! Sure.... all it takes is one of these!

If I had stupid money to spend my LS would look like that one off black one fast posted. That's a beautiful car from what pics I've seen. I believe someone from the shop the car was built at is a member here.

If I had stupid money I would have just bought the Lexus I wanted and wouldn't have to worry about all the stupid sh*t that goes wrong with every Lincoln or Cadillac that tries to compete:(

many of us do fine. BlackBurb - what is your experience on every Lincoln?

All you need do is read Consumer Reports annual Buying Guides. Year after year, Cadillac and Lincoln are "Used cars to avoid" and have below average reliability, while Lexus is always above average and often "Best of the best". Of course there will always be good Lincolns and Caddies and occasionally a bad Lexus, but statistically, Lexus is a far, far more reliable brand than the vehicles on this forum (both of which I like.) That's just a fact. It's also why I couldn't find a '98 Lexus even close to the price I paid for an '03 LS even though they cost about the same new.

you haven't looked at any of those report in the last 5 years.... the quality of the new stuff is nearly on-par now.

but - you're generalizations are just that... and funny "can't afford the car a want so I'll complain about the car I got"...

Those high end cars (Lexus, BMW, etc) are nice, but require high dollar upkeep. It's $125 just for an oil change in a BMW 3series at the dealership here.

There is no such thing "best of the best" as far as vehicle reliability goes. You have good and bad. No two cars of the same make and model are gonna be the same.

Here are some facts about Lexus:

* Lexus Announces Voluntary Fuel Pressure Sensor Recall on Certain 06-09 GS and IS Models
* Lexus Announces Intent to Voluntarily Recall Certain 04-06 GS, IS and RX Vehicles
* Lexus Announces Intent to Voluntarily Recall Certain LX 470 Vehicles
* Lexus Announces Intention to Recall Certain Vehicles to Replace Engine Valve Springs
* Lexus Voluntary Safety Recall on Select 2009 and 2010 LS Models
* Lexus 2010 GX 460 Voluntary Safety Recall
* Lexus 2010 HS 250h Voluntary Safety Recall
* Pedal Entrapment Recall

........and that^^^^..... I like the confidence level i have driving around in my LS and don't have to worry about being an automated plow.

Wow! A lot of people on here who don't understand statistics. There is no debate here. Overall, Lexus builds far more reliable cars than Lincoln or Cadillac. If you disagree with that fact, you're just ignorant. My LS - in 80000 miles - has already had two coils replaced and a transmission solenoid replaced. I have zero confidence level that this car won't need more expensive repairs in the near future. How many Lincolns or Caddys do you see with 200K+ that look and run almost like new. Lexus like that are all over the place. They are better built, that is a fact. If you don't like it, tough sh*t. In any group of anything, there will always be those at the top and those at the bottom. The difference between the top and bottom may be closer than than it was 10 years ago, but who is at the top and who is at the bottom is unchanged.

No, I could not afford the car I wanted. I bought the best thing I could afford that fit my criteria. I'm not complaining about it, merely pointing out that if I had more money when I was looking, that there are better options out there than what I ended up with.

You consider that to be a lot within 80,000 miles?

Oh, there's been alot of other small things, those are just the biggies. A rattle in the door was fixed (by a dealer) by jamming some foam between the door panel and door. LAME! I've seen a lot of people with Lexus go 200k without touching anything other than plugs, oil changes and one timing belt. I've never seen a single LS with over 200k on it.

Let me add one thing. I had an '86 Buick Electra. That was the first year of distributorless ignition. In over 150k, I never had a coil fail. So yeah, two in 80k is a big deal.

I know.. 80K is kinda low mileage imo

I'd say 80k would be low mileage when I'm buying a car, but when I have driven a car for 80k miles I'd be like "Damn, I've driven this car for 80k miles(sigh)" and patiently await its death.
