Okay guys why do you love your Lincoln LS? What made you fall in love with this car and how long do you plan on keeping the love going?

The love was fleeting, and died when the engineering was revealed... I am building a house so I can't touch my credit until it's done, but the minute the house is done, the car is gone.

Or, if I can't get what I want out of it I may turn it into a project. It would be a fun car with a Chevy LS engine under the hood, like a 6.2L with one of the new 8 speed auto transmissions. And no, it wouldn't be like that other LS powered LS on the net that screwed up all the electronics. I would do it correctly, and everything would work when I was finished. Well, not everything, I'd yank that stupid heater/air conditioning system out and install something more conventional. Doubt I will though, a project has to be a labor of love and there are a lot of other cars I'd rather do as a project.

Love is not the right word (I reserve that for other humans), but I have been happy with both of mine since I got them in 2004 and 2006. Presently, I don't expect to get rid of either until I can't get needed parts anymore.

Its a fun car, not a car i would consider even close to what i would consider love towards a vehicle. First car that came to mind when talking about this is a 1949 Mercury. Now thats a car i could "love".

The timeless styling of the car (people think my '06 is new!), the driving experience, the comfort and many intangibles.

Like Joe, I will keep mine until I can no longer repair them.

the can be great, I love the looks, i love the handling. but the lack of anything for it is just such a downer. honestly, if it used a more common ford drivetrain that could actually get some real performance out of it. I would probably not want to get rid of it for a good while. but its really falling behind with what has came out in the last decade and a half...

ford had been really struggling to keep my attention with most of their new cars, been holding out to see what a mustang with IRS can really do (terminators don't count because more owners wish they had a GT's straight axle) BUT I really do feel like my next car with have something "LS" in it... :shifty:

actually, I do like some older thunder chickens as long as they are non retro! I know as hard as that is to believe, I just don't like the way they look on the outside, if i'm gonna have to deal with all the LS problems on the inside, it has to look as good as the LS on the outside!!! theyre just a classier mustang!, and usually easier to get to go in a straight line!!

more and more, I'm really leaning towards something like a 6.0 or 6.2 LS (in a perfect world, it would be a 7.0 lol) just having a hard time trying to figure what to wrap around it...

My two votes:

LS7 | Hennessey Venom GT
LS9| ZR1 Vette

my vote:

LS7 TT Hennessey CTS-V coupe (well LSx i guess)

actually wouldn't mind a LT4 Z06, supposedly right up there with the ZR1!

but until I win the lottery, ideally a LS2 CTS-V or maybe a LSA V sedan if they drop just a little more in the next couple of years will do... was looking for a LS3 G8, but with so few made, they still command a high price tag and they rarely pop up for sale. and an LS2'ish G8 isnt an option because GM in their awesomeness, didn't offer a manual trans :(

Other than my Super Coupe, this has been my favorite car. To me, it's a near perfect mix of comfort and performance. I'll most likely keep it until the motor or trans go. right now, there aren't too many cars that interest me enough to part with it.

The only LOVE going on here is between the LS and my wallet!

this weeks bleeding = 2G's on cosmetic repairs/mods.

I love it for the looks, handling, and power. There are other cars that outclass and outperform the LS, and there are many like it, but this is my LS. The car is my hobby. I will clean it and I will fix it until I no longer can.

It may not be the nicest car out there, but its the nicest car I own. Its all relative. I haven't met any car/driver combinations yet that will follow my pace through turns. For now, there's enough I can upgrade to keep me happy and busy. When I finish the suspension repairs (insert joke about never finishing here) the next thing is audio. New head and replace the factory sub amp since I already replaced my blown woofers with 8" kickers (yes, still in the shelf). I'm also doing the LED dash conversion myself one piece at a time.

I have big plans but all this work is more of a hobby. Time and money is valued differently like that

Not much love, but it's been a great DD for the past couple years and has needed very little. It was just a deal I couldn't pass up.

I'm constantly looking for a replacement, but the LS isn't really costing me much right now. Might even break close to even on it when I decide to sell.

but its really falling behind with what has came out in the last decade and a half...

You aren't kidding there. I rented a base V6 2013 Charger for a week last week, and it was easily a better car than my LS even taking the problems my LS currently has into account. It got better mileage at the speeds I drive, was more comfortable, had more room, and had a more luxurious feel than my LS does. And, it felt like it was just as fast as my 2nd gen V8 LS. According to Auto Rooster, who posted quarter mile times for both, the 2003 LS V8 has a 0-60 of about 6.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 15.1 seconds, while the 2013 Charger V6 has a 0-60 of 6.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 15.3 seconds. And when you consider that the 2013 Charger costs 26K new while the LS's 40,000 price tag would be 49,000 in 2014 dollars...

technically, thats not a good comparison as the LS's price would probably be considered lower instead of higher as it has a decade older technology which allows the charger to be made much cheaper, fancy things like 8 speed trannies werenrt really an option back when the LS 5 speed was a big deal! not to mention they are completely different style of cars. I for one can't stand how much body roll all the LX platform cars have (and the LD didn't have much better results with the refresh) and how they feel round corners. my dad just traded in his 13 charger R/T max because he wasn't happy with how it handled, probably going toward the direction of an SS instead.

How can you compare an early 2000's luxury sedan with something with the latest technology? For the most part the newer tech is going to reign superior in every situation.
