Hey guys !!
I was looking into getting a after market chip. I was wondering if anyone has tried the superchip and what ther inpressions where.
Also, what in your impression of the LMS chip.
I found the super chip for about 200 shipped http://performance.drivewire.com/getparts/index.aspx?pref=Computer%20Chip|LINCOLN|MARK%20VIII|1994||V8|4.6|281|MFI|Engine%20Management

and then of course the LMS chip is 299 plus shipping. I know custom tuning is the best but I am un willing to pay 5-600 to only have it done again if I change something. the car right now is stock I just want a little more Hp and hopfully I do not go to far !! LOL I have another car for that so I think I am safe. well... for a few days anyway..
Thanx in advance !!! :Beer

X cal 2, IMHO. You can upload the tunes straight to your OEM computer, if you change something, all you need is a new tune file.

isnt tbhe xcal2 only for OBD2?

There's Superchips, and there's SCT (Superchips Custom Tuning). They are two totally different companies. Everything I've read says Superchips is not as good as SCT for a Mark VIII.

The link in your message looks like a Superchips chip, and I believe the LMS chip would be better.

Between LMS and SCT, I couldn't tell you which of those two will be a better value.

I was chatting with a guy I was buying a few parts from on e-bay and he had gotten a custom ship done. The LMS chip made more power and of course was considerably cheaper. But, how true are the power gains??
From what I had read on here the LMS stuff is a good way to go. Everything they have looks like quality I really like that. But I am more familiar with super chips so that is the problem I am having. I have bought stuff that looked great and was garbage when it showed up. So when I returned it the company accused me of ruining the part. Strange..
So that is my main reason for asking around to see what people thought about there parts.

Well maybe I can explain.

We do NOTHING but Mark VIII's and have ONLY done nothing but Mark VIII's programming wise for almost 8 years now, simply because we have the time and capabilities to do so now companies like SC do MANY differnt programs for MANY different vehicles therefore they do not have the resources to spend on ONE particular vehicle like we can, our rograms for the Mark VIII's are so overdeveloped its a sin.

Im not knocking anyone but I know for a fact we sell more Mark VIII programs then anyone and we have yet to have only ONE program refund to date.

Also we do ALL Ford vehicle programs I just meant we primarily do the Mark VIII's.

You can thumb through our customer review section to look for chip reviews too.

I have the LMS chip and I am very satisfied with it. You get great customer service from Geno at LMS.

LMS chips all the way!!! SCT chips suck. don't waste your money on one.

Is this based on actual experience ? I heard nothing but good things about SCT and their software ?

SCTs are good all the stangs are running them its really the programer who would suck also you can get it dyno tune at a sct place, Had bad luck with Lonnie at BlueOval Chips I got one after and I mean right after my 3500 stall and 99 mustang trans and to be honest with you the car sorta drove like :q:q:q:q but I didnt know it was the chip at the time figured hey high stall will do that to you, with his chip for some reason IDK the car woth hit something like a rev limiter at 3000 and the car would hold rpm with light throttle and the shifhting was super erratic you had to let of the gas for it to shift most of the time, and yes it was installed right, I took it out the other day because my friend when I raced them were pulling hard on me even my friends stock Lincoln Mark VIII walked my ass now it was pretty quick with the 410 gears but since I blow those it felt alot slower however that was to be expected it drove exatly the same with the 308 in it as it did with 410s, So then I pulled the chip and the car gets awsome good gas mileage shifts really well and lights them up like it should I going to call him soon since I work 60 hours aweek I dont have time to deal with this but I will let you know how he solves this

I have an old Superchip for my '93, EEC-IV OBD I Mark VIII. It came with the car. Can they reburned with better codes and what's that cost?

As far as I know LMS doesn't even own an in-shop dyno ans uses old technology on their chips.

On the other side, SCT is the industry standard and saying that it sucks is just plain ignorant.

No we do not OWN a dyno, we did rent one for the making of our programs and although they were made sometime ago I will go toe to toe with ANY of them. We don't use "Old technology" to burn them, same technology just done earlier. Try it, you have 30 days of trial.

hey Geno, Does you Chip gain more HP and Torque or Dennis? I think his was for 374 or something and plus he is just around the block from me. So I am just wondering if its worthed to spend 74 dollars more.
