It will spin.. You just gotta know how to counter the actions. When I am doing laps through town, it car will be sideways most of the time. Maybe that's just me.. :D

i thought that was just me.....people looked at me like i was retarded but hey i got the hang of it sideways....

My 2000 LS has served as my go to Vermont ski vehicle for the last 7 years. It has worked very well in the snow. If I have problems getting over the App Gap everyone with awd is also having trouble (because they run all seasons).

You need four good snow tires (not all seasons). Narrow (I run 215/60-16 Dunlops) retire them from snow duty after 10 -12,000 miles (two seasons for me). I did get caught in an early October storm and the car was useless going up hill with its summer tires on it. I do not carry any weights (other than ski gear and a set of chains).

The last road I go up is 5 mile stretch of switchbacks with a 8% grade. As long as I maintain forward momentum all is fine. The LS will rotate but all slides are slow and controllable. The long wheelbase makes the car very easy to control with the tail out.

In the seven years of using it to go to VT (8 - 10 times per winter) I've only not made it to my destination once. While going up the steepest section of road I had snow billowing over the hood (3 am at the end of a 30 inch storm). Since VTTrans stops plowing at 10pm and there were no tracks on the road I was going up through at least a foot of fresh snow on top of a packed surface. After three tries (last one with chains) I gave up and slept in the car. Once the road was plowed (6 am) I completed the trip and skied the powder.
