LS makes a SS?

These have been posted on here before. Likely an aftermarket custom place made them. Add the body kit and label it a limited. Hard to imagine them making 200 of them.

I find it hard to believe that there are another 199 of those cars around. You'd think you would either see one on here or something like cardomain. Regardless if you ask me its a crappy job and wouldnt think any dealer would want to claim that as a limited edition. Its not even a full razzi kit, cant tell if the mesh in the grill and bumper is quality work, the headrests dont match in color, there is one close up picture of the rear drivers wheels which has some bad curb rash, in the same pic the rear valance doesnt look like its flush and clean on the rear bumper, the engine bay pic you can see an alarm installed with the wiring just hanging around, and of course that fugly gold badge. Other than that it looks ok. I noticed his keychain....Unique Motorsports. I doubt thats their work, i'll bet he is a wannabe custom guy. Its overall not a bad USED custom car, but he is asking too much for it.

PS - Anyone else notice he said he had a fifth full size spare in the trunk? How is that happening? Relocate the battery and totally rebuild the trunk?

PSS - As mentioned by others, i find it hard to believe also that any respectable custom shop would place a "SS" label on a FoMoCo product. Its like having a SVT Camaro.

I think a full size spare may fit in there. In the regular in and out I do with mine going to the track it sure has plenty of room.

When I was shopping for my MarkVIII I ran across a "GOLD COAST" model. I never heard of it and still never saw another one. It had unique gold badges and had a dash plaque also. There are conversion companies that do T-Tops, ground effects, carriage tops and various other things to cars and brand them much like conversion van companies do. Not so popular anymore.

I couldn't agree more that 200 being done would be odd.

The LS, atleast the '00-'02 has plenty of room for a full size spare. The LS originally came with a full size spare, but I believe they started to phase that out somewhere in the '01 or '02 model year. My '01 has a full size spare.

There is some room under there but i thought the battery makes it alittle too tight. I noticed the guy changed his description again by removing the "there wasnt a LSE until 2003" nonsense. Atleast he's making progress. Still dont think he'll get a winning bidder.

For some reason there is some 200 LS's made for the dealerships that are limited. I read a few articles about it, but like I said it dont look like that it looks plain out normal.

I fit a 17" in my spare compartment.

my grandfather used to have an LS "SS". it was a dealership package, no performance modifications but it had LSE side skirts and rear facia, colored rear license plate surround, and mclaren "like" grill and lower grill. He had "003/200" but its not special, only a dealership gimmic. it looked pretty nice though

I found one of these "ss" Lincolns on LvC.

Wow...i guess some humble pie is in order. I cant beleive those things are for real. It looks like a bunch of different parts put together though. Mclaren grill, some sort of mesh in lower grill, side skirts and rear skirt, dual exhaust with no cutouts. I wonder why not a different front bumper? Those badges look very cheap and ugly and the "Super Sport" still doesnt belong on a Ford.

the headrests are ebay specials. And they are not matching the leather. He could have at least dyed them to match

I was goggling around awhile ago and I found something about these cars. I KNOW they don't look like that at all. Like I said all they came with was a nice set of wheels and a bunch of books and extra literature, pens, leather reg. holder, dumb stuff! No side skirts, no grill, no rear valance either and it definitely didn't say SS anywhere on it.

Glanga, what PM's.? I sent you one a few days ago with a address.

Sounds like someone needs a beating. Since Lincoln never made or authorized these "limited editions", he should come clean and say that.

As a marketing technique, it's brilliant albeit deceitful. Get a $2 plaque, label it with "Limited Edition" and bogus production numbers, slap it on the dash and ask $5000 more for the car!

LS SS Edition

Hey Guy's;

Just new to the site, been visiting off & on since I bought my LS. WRT this car on Ebay, it's for real (LS SS). It's not the first one I've seen. I'm pretty sure that this was a promotional thing in one of the regions in the US. This car has been messed with, er I mean, modified some what, however not that well. I can't believe some of you LS vets have not seen these cars before.

Cheers.

I can understand some individual dealers doing their own promotions or something, but i still refuse to believe that any Ford dealer intentionally put a "SS" badge on a Ford product. Isnt "GT" a Ford thing?

I agree. I'd like to know what dealer sold that car. Or who started this SS thing on the LS's

I actually got the nerve to ask this guy about his car yesterday. He said he got it at Burns Ford Lincoln Mercury in New York. There's a start.

yeah but did he buy it used from there? My carfax ran out or else id run the vin.

He didnt say whether he bought it used or new, but he did say that they verified the car when they sold it to him. So if there is a trail of deception it leads back to them. In a way i dont blame him, if a Ford dealer sold it to him and told some story about a LS SS then why would he doubt it?

I think that this is a "dealer" only "special" badge. The user name BIG CELO is from NJ. The number that this ebay guy is using - "516-818-4029" is the same as this http://www.nationalcustomcarassociation.com/ad_inquiry.shtml..... And that is in NY.

I think it's all B/S because as it's been stated - SS=Chevy. I think the dealer was just trying to sell all their "special sports" to suckers.

WTF? The limited edition dealer cars werent ment for civillian sale's they went to special dealers. AND THEY NEVER HAD HALF A BODY KIT on them either. Why the hell would Ford or Lincoln or even any car company at all put on sideskirts and a rear valance with a factory bumper that does not match? It is plane out to see it does not match up!

The car was bought used and some how had the side skirts and rear put on either by this guy or the previouse owner.

Think about the time the MClaren was made along with the time its grilles were beeing distributed first off hand guys.
