Mark VIII Craigslist finds!!!

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I am a little less enamored of this car now but it still appears to be for sale and the price has dropped to 1500.

Why do you want that specific car? If its been for sale for as long as you make it sound there's probably something wrong with it. If the car were more expensive I would tell you to pay someone local to look at it and drive it and have him give you his honest opinion about it..but for a car only worth $1500 its not worth it..nor is it worth the chance at wasting money on a plane ticket if it turns out to be a pile of sh*t. Honestly that car doesn't appear to be in the greatest shape and that's only from a picture..see it in person and even more flaws will show probably..and you haven't even gotten into the mchanics of the vehicle yet. If you're going to fly out west or down south to buy a car you might as well make it worth while and find something low mile and super clean and have the owner send lots of pics and talk to him over the phone asking him lots of questions about the car.

no doubt headlights ad "purple" dead give away not a LSC! mlg is insane...INSANE low!!!...NEVER seen 17k on a 96...and deff not purple (purp wasnt a 96 color, splains the paintover on the base silver strip...lol but I still dont see purple) those floor mats are deff not 1st gen...wayyyyyyy fluffy, interesting....those mats look showroom new...(unless that is what they look like new SPANKIN NEW!) I'd like to see the VIN...shes got the pulldown armrest in the back seat...bases didn't have the pulldown arm rest in the back seat...nothing else though indicates LSC...

weird place to mount the cd plyr

what are those things on the rear glass - both right left and center....cameras?

whoever put the lincoln emblem on the hood needs castrated...twice...that is just friggin STUPID! the reflectors are dumb too

minus the hood emblem...that is one beautifully clean Mark (and yeah - the directionals are bassackwards)

Doesn't look very purple to me either, but it also doesn't look black..hard to tell in that lighting. The rear arm rests appeared in all 96s bases and LSCs.

Seats look good too. Not a bad price either. I just wouldn't really want that year but for $2500, one could afford some extra parts that are known to be hard to find and can go bad at any time.

Yeah, I just went back and looked at the link this time and seen it. They are also taking pics to try and hide the fading trunk lid paint and the rear bumper cover fading. I see the rust hole in the rocker but that interior is extremely nice for a Gen 1. The HID housings look to be clean too. Rear window gasket is nice and straight. I still feel like it's worth an easy $2000 to $2500.

Good eye..didn't catch that, hard to see on a black car. And yeah paint is faded on trunk, bumper and roof. Good for parts though if you can get it for $1500 or so.

And seriously, I want this car. I think the price is very reasonable and the girl looks SWEET. I've forwarded this to a member in Ventura who's in the market for a BOB Gen II, but it's almost like mining for plutonium now... at least on the West Coast. And I am familiar with the car in San Diego. Checkered past. But this one... hmmm. Laganja not withstanding, of course. :p

Carl went and saw the one in Ventura with 22k miles and I do believe she will be joining LvC very soon. He said she looked new!!!! Woot. :D
