the mark vii diesel had 155 lb-ft of torque, that thing must have been a real piece of work pulling onto a highway - 115hp

in other words ,less power than a modern basic 4 cylinder in a luxo-barge.

dont give me crap about how it makes its torque all down low either,with only 155 lb-ft,it doesnt matter when it comes on.

You're right that there are better diesels out there for a swap but the advantage of the BMW diesel swap is ease of installation because it was used in the Mark VII.

The other diesel engine that might fit under the hood is the GM 6.2/6.5L diesel engine. They are similar in size and weight to a big block chevy gas engine. These engines get good fuel economy but they're limited on power.

Really? That BMW I6 was a real hot rod in the Mark VII... 0-60 in 13.5 sec or so.... Beast.
