Mlara1129's C-List Finds

I have a coworker...an older woman who knows nothing about her LS....it's an 00 with the exact spoiler...and it's stock. Her's is not an LSE...I think it's a base V6.

It looks like its lifted a few inches off the truck. If it was just placed on top of the trunk, the front would be lower than the back, not on an even plane, unless they adapted some material to the front and back to raise both up.

I think for the xj it was 2004, basically when they dropped the "8" of the end of the xj8 and just went to the XJ. And it was probably the same for the xk, whatever year they dropped the "8" from the xk is the year the xk wheels switched over as well. I believe the stype and xtype were always 5x4.25 though. Since there newer

I'm no "google" though. You may want to double check my theories.

But its a V6 with no options and carriage top. Only thing that could make it worse is if it had 16" wheels.

The V6 part suckssss major. You could change the wheels. Point is, it'd be nice to have an LS with 36k miles. It's getting more and more uncommon

Id rather have a V6 with regular top versus a V8 with carriage top.

Carriage tops are hideous.

The LS was never meant to have one.

I'm not saying I would CHOOSE a carriage top over a regular top. But my Gen. 1 LS w/ 178k miles and an array of problems over a Gen. 2 flawless one owner carriage top w/ 37k miles? It doesn't take a genius to see the smart decision there.

Neither

No '00 came stock with a spoiler The LSE debuted in '01.

I'll never spend actual money on an LS again. You guys are missing the point -.-

Yet you still come here....... YOU'RE missing the point. There are plenty of good LSes out there. Our 3 have a total of 344K+ miles on them (the V6 has over 178K and my '06 over 105K). The ONLY engine work was the solenoid in the trans on the '00. By your own admission yours was neglected for over a year. That will kill ANY car! Keep up on maintenance and the drivetrain will probably outlast the body. I know a guy who needed a new engine in his 65K mile CR-V. I asked why and he told me the engine seized! In a Honda? Well, if one never changes the oil...... Sorry you took on more than you wanted, but don't claim ALL LSes are in as poor a condition or needs as much work.

Yet you still come here.......

I still come here because it's good, active conversation about a car that I loved when I drove it before it went to sh*t. I still like the cars, but one LS experience was more than enough for me to know I'll never own another one.

WOW... two problems with this

A.) your LS turned to sh!t long before it was GIVEN to you...

B.) Your ignorance to the LS is the problem here. not these cars. had you spent any money on a quality LS, you would have a much different opinion. My LS has been one of the cheapest cars i've owned. You dont have to own another one, thats fine, but don't think it wont happen to you again if you think the quality of a car is just based off it's brand
