Sorry, I have to ask, why are your headlights in an oven?

Also, did you get new wheels yet? I'm curious as to how the ones you mentioned earlier would look on your car...

Nice job on the sub, I'm actually thinking of making a custom front and rear bumper using a fiberglass mold method, I might need to hit you up for some tips when I start.

It's a pretty common practice, not just for the LS. A lot of headlights are sealed with high temperature sealant. It is possible to open these up by baking in the oven at low enough temp where you won't damage the light itself, but the sealant softens up enough to pull apart. I believe most (if not all Gen1) you are able to do this (it needs to have a grey colored sealant). I think Ford started using a different sealant on Gen2's which are black in color. For those, you need to actually cut open the headlight.

Beautiful ride, man! Great job on the "eyes" and nice box! You're moving quick and posting nice pictures as you go. It's pretty cool to see an LS start bone stock and progressively get modded..

Thank you. After I get the wheels on and chrome trim painted, I'll be done for awhile till I find some LSE bumpers.

Here's the rear amp setup that you guys were asking about.. Nothing fancy. Just hidden.. I used angle iron and a 12" hinge. that was all, really simple, yet effective.

Here's the backup camera..

It will show navigation and backup camera at the same time.. Pretty awesome

A friend put his amp there also. He had serious overheating issues. There is no air movement there.

+1.

You have come too far with the rest of the install and quality of products purchased to now fall short this close to the finish line.

Mount that amp properly and call it a day.

What is improper?

Is it your intent for the final mounting place to be on top of your spare tire?

Put the amp on the backseat. Or you could mount it behind the sub box you molded, pull back the trim there should be an empty spot in there. That's where one of the factory amps for the THX system was mounted from factory.

I am thinking the op is baiting and having a bit of fun. With everything else he has done, there is no way that is actual spot for the amp.

you can also mount it under the rear deack (where the factory amps mount), if your looking for a hidden look

I have my two amps in the spare wheel well myself. Was just curious on how you did it. I should take pictures sometime of mine. Although, my wires are a mess. When I installed it I had intentions to go back and clean it up. 3 years later, still haven't cleaned up the wires. lol.

What I did was made a wooden box (without a top) to mount the amps in. I was worried about heat, so I installed two fans, one pulling air in, one pushing air out to keep it nice and cool. I have never had an issue with heat. The floor of the box has a hole in the center and goes right over the spare wheel. I can remove everything in about 5 minutes to get to the spare.

Here is my current setup!Simple and clean. The specs of my system are in my sig.

That'll work. You need the air movement to keep the amp cool. You're idea is probably a little overkill, but at least you won't fry an expensive amp! You probably will want to vent the air outside the spare well. maybe an exhaust hose from the pushing fan to the outside of the well? You could even go outside with a one-way valve to keep moisture/water out.

I had a fully hidden and vent set up in my expy (just a box showing) ... but all is mounted to my box now...
