Below that its got a spot you could tie to below the cowl plastic and wiper garbage, but then your kinda low and have alot of obsticles. hmmm.. i see...

thanks for the info, ill have to look for myself in the daylight. i guess i could take that lower mounting point, and make a nice, thick bracket (gussett it and everything) that comes up out of the way of all that crap....

but ill have to see..

The TB is in the middle of it all. You would probably have a better chance with a X design. Strut tower across to, what is that called where the door bolts, a-pillar??

good point. i remember how close that is to the firewall now. forgot about how thats in such a stupid place. right an x would be better. hmmm. still thinkin.

Check it out.

Front of strut tower to where the hood hinge mounts opposite side, X joined in the middle, over everything. In front of and behind the hood strut. Now, is there the hood clearance?
 
and im done! heres a pic of my custom brace. i decided to go with red powder coating to really set my car off.

no. im an idiot. i drove it into a shelf with paint cans on it, when i pulled it into the photoshop. jk:D

I only lost maybe 0.5 mpg between the 4.10s and 4.30s. It was like 22.8 mpg, now it seems to be hovering around 22.3. The trip should tell better.

I would expect it to be a lot worse. What speed are you traveling at when you acheive these numbers?

I normally cruise at 75 mph. I checked it with the 4.30s using GPS to see how far the new gears threw the speedo off since there really is no speedo gear for 4.30s. The speedo now shows about 78 when the GPS says 75. ;)
 
driller dallas mustang sells a converter that you can reset your speedo. with when mike and i came back from Pa. the 95 with 410 only took a gal more per fill up compared with richs and mikes 98 they both where with in a 10th of a gal. using the lower gear geys into the better torque range for the .6
keep your eyes out for the deer and have a safe trip. i still like the higher gear in the 94 with the 5 speed getting 29 mph at 70+ as long as i see the radar before they see me. jd

For no more than I drive it, I'll most likely live with the speedo as is. I'll be checking the mileage closely for a while but I don't expect any major suprises.

Oh yeah, you definitely can feel the difference in torque response with gears in these cars. I think the stock setup is under-geared for my taste. They surely didn't do it for mileage, no one paying $40K for a car 13 years ago really cared all that much about highway mileage! :p

I don't think I ever had a accurate speedo in any of my MustangIIs, just the first one.

hey send my the diagram to override the cooling fan please, Im going hit 13s tuesday no matter what, and Im not putting the 430s in till I do.

I ran a 14.1 with no head light, open exhaust, and a 3500 stall. Ive got a chip Im going throw in to this time
 
Good luck hitting the 13's with a 97mph trap. It won't happen unless you get a sub 2.0 60 foot time. But if you are putting in a chip that should put you around 99mph which is good for a 13.9 with a 2.0 60 foot time.
