Here are some pics of the work...

Old soldier removed from service.
Note the sloppy work on the downpipes.

The long awaited pinion brace installed with the exhaust pipes out of the way.

The sound is just awesome with the new mufflers. I still have the electrics to hookup before I get to hear it through the cutouts. Then we'll get a vid with a couple sound clips posted up. [cowboy]

What are the pipes that extends outward go to?

Nothing. :D

What is this new setup going to do for you?
Scare people. :p

Seriously, it's new technology applied to old school fun - open exhaust via cutouts simulating running open headers. But instead of crawling under the car and uncapping the cutout or using a choke cable to pull the cutout valve open, you push a switch and let the HD electric motor do the work.

Whether or not it helps performance wise will be told soon. ;)

Nice JP, I had the cutouts in the same location in my 95 LSC... gained 2mph over the stock LSC piping and Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers. The only thing I don't like about your setup is the Hooker mufflers look like they way a lot compared to a Bullet or no muffler setup...

Just be carefull, not only are the cut outs extremely loud, they are illegal in most states.

The cutouts are "off-road" use only. ;)

They are SUPER LOUD!!! With the turnouts down and to the side, the effect when standing beside the car is UNREAL!

Huge vid loading... but the handycam is better video than audio. It does not begin to convey the sound, open or closed.

Driller those new fangled West Virginia Road De-Icers look plumb legal to me. Great piece of modern thermal engineering work. I noted that you are also using loud accoustics for additional sonic cleaning of the road surface as well. Great pics, waiting for mpegs

Vid wouldn't play!! DAMN I wanna hear it open with dumps!! I have heard cutouts but not dumped downward, that makes a whole lotta bass!!
Also on a side note, were the cutouts mounted where they are because of their size? Cause that's one hell of alot of reversion from how they are installed, it would seem to be a straight run if they were swapped from the other pipes.

Raspy is a term with many definitions when it comes to exhaust sound. Most like that certain sound but I like the sound when the exhaust sounds like its screaming in pain. Sounds to me like the motor is pushing out its potential at that point.

Sounds good driller.

 Its a 75 MB video.

Heres an audio file...

The vid doesn't work, period, for me. It loaded 1:07 of black screen without sound. Anyway sounds about like I'd expect, which is a good thing. You can definitely hear when they open/close at idle.
