Nokya cosmic bulbs or HID's?

Thanks Slick. I do have to point out that the fogs dont reach out that far on the LS. They really arent fog lights for one and aside from that they help produce more lights to the sides of the road.

Think about the shape and design of the square fog light bowl as opposed to the round low beam bowls. Ones designed to focus more on the sides of the road and ones designed to focus more to the front of the vehicle.

Alax, Petes is the one out of how many that had this issue. When he said dont get Nokyas dont listen to him. For him to be the only person to have a problem with Nokyas ( for some strange reason ) its not justified for him to claim they suck.

I have been running Nokyas for a long time till I recently got these Bimmian Xenesis bulbs I have now.

Just dont get the higher wattage Nokyas or make sure you get a heavy duty harness.

I mentioned that I HAD then heavy duties installed. So the problem would be higher wattage eh? though they were 5k?

K is for Kelvins, look it up.

I thought you got the heavy duty harness? So you didnt get the harness huh?

I'm interested in the cleaner white look of HID's myself but dropping that amount of money at once can be a little trying for me at the moment. I'd like to hear Alax7's review of them after he installs them.

it was the plug-n-play wiring harness cause it came free with the bulbs when I ordered the hi-s and low-s

I meant 5k as in 5000, sorry for the appreviated mix-up

ok well I go order the heavy duty harness then cause I only ordered the plug and play.

How are the Bimmian Xenesis? I googled them and they are like 15 bucks more than Nykoa's. How do they compare?

Even better than Nokyas yet!

I never gave the Hoens a shot but people say they hold their own against them.

Petes,... WTF? 5000 what?

You get the standard wattage and then you get the 100 watt stage 2's.

srry Werner it was my first time buying headlights...shoulda put more thought into it and lesson has been learned. I may in the future get HIDs but since I can see the road quite well...ill stick with OEMs in my lows/fogs

I just wanna get rid of the damn Amber crap...I feel like Adrian Monk when it comes to the amber crap :p

Ok, petes do you know what brand is OEM?

You can really do better than OEM even if you just order those E-Bay ones that are like .99$ and 4.00$ shipping.

I still wanna know what you have 5000 confused with.

I had the ford dealer order me them and they came in the ford product box...so I would assume OEM :p

But what brand do they use in our cars as OEM? OEM isnt a freaking brand man!

I think its Phllips, and what a :q:q:q:qty bulb it is.

lol btw I found the actual output of the the Nokyas I used...had to look back through my favorites

Nokya 9006 Light Bulb, 7,000K Arctic White, Output: 12V80W

yeah the cosmic white say they have look like 5000k hid's. I guess thats what he meant by 5000. The artic white are look like 7000k and the purple look like the 12000K hids.

.

Nice. If like these high output halogens maybe I'll upgrade from the Nokya for some of those.

Just to clarify, I was speaking for the Xenesis, they are comparable to the Hoens.

oh yeah i know. I didnt look up the hoens. I was asking about the xenesis too cause thats what you had on. I have a little condensation in my lenses, so if it has the black sealant you can't open it? If so there is no way to clean it then?

Well, you could remove them and set them to dry up somewhere. You can put them in a oven set on low like 100 or just higher for a few minutes, that should clear up the condensation. Then just reseal them with RTV. Check the bulbs where they mount and make sure they are in properly, make sure the breathers ( little rubber pieces on the back of the housing ) are in place and make sure the weather stripping on the headlight is not damage so when you close the hood it makes a nice seal. All those things could account for water seeping in the headlight.

Other then that you must use a rotary tool and cut them open.

I put ones with black glue in the oven to see what happens. They were a old junk set so I didnt care what happened to them. The glue softened up a lot but not enough. I could pull them apart after I left them in a bit longer but it took lots of force and bent things out of shape a bit.

Unless you are confident about not damaging them I advise against this anyway.

I have to dremel the black sealant off or dremel the actual headlight open

I ordered the wrong bulb size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   !!!!!!!! waiting anxiously, took the headlights off stick the bulb in the lamp and it doesn't fit. MAN! i just ordered the right ones, made sure of it. Oh well. Can't do much but wait

What size did you get?

I picked up some headlights about a year ago from carquest, paid 10 bucks for them and they work awesome, they have quite a bit of blue when they first come on but once they heat up they are almost completly white, i have silverstars in my fogs and they dont look nearly as white as the other ones

I got 9006. I some website said the low were 9006. I dont know why i wwent with that when i had checked the manual first and it said h11. The thing I'm confused about is that they dont make heaavy duty harnesses for all the bulb types.. The 9006 has a harness and the 9005 is the bulb for the hi beams and it has a harness too, maybe they only make harnesses for hi's.

You prob wont remember, but what bulb size did you get, was it for the lows? and did you use a heavy duty harness?
