Official LS Picture Thread

Yea. That guy used a different brand of vinyl (actually one not designed for vehicles).

The one I got is technically matte black, but it has a kind of satin or darker deepness to it. When I'm home from work I'll post a photo from the exact stuff I got, applied on a MB.

Bought my car back from salvage auto auction, just couldn't live without wheels haha.. Expect to see a thread about parting out or selling as a whole soon..

You can buy it haha ! You need a new project anyway. It's an 04 32k nav,thx,reverse sensors,hid,side airbags,blk leather. It'll probably be for sale before the end of the year.
 
not too much aftermarket done with her yet. all i did was exhaust, tint, and a system before i deployed. 5 more months left of then ill be posting a lot more upgrades. thank you tax payers. :D

Hey guys...new to the site. Browsed through many of the pages....very nice rides! Im about to pull the trigger on a 02 LS V8 96k miles. I took a few pics to get some thoughts. Sorry they are so dark... ill have more once I get it.

First question......as you can see the lower grill is missing a piece on the right side. Any suggestions on grill type to replace it? Maybe Mclaren for top and bottom?

If you have the luck to find a McClaren Grille, go buy a plane ticket and fly to Vegas with it. They are rare.

Most people who are replacing the grille update it with an LSE grille or look to paint it. Quite a few people have swapped front bumpers on a Gen I to a Gen II LSE or an '06 LS front bumper. Completely changes the look. The grille is swappable without a problem. The bumper from a gen II LSE, or '06 LS will leave a gap between your headlights and bumper without proper brackets I do believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is grille and rear surround paint matched? Nice. Anyways welcome to LVC. Perhaps for the sake of this thread post your questions in a thread and utilize the search function.

Finally, welcome to LVC. Lot's of very wise individuals on here.

It's not the brackets it is the headlights themselves. The only way to remove the gap is to switch over to 2nd gen headlights at the same time
 
It's all coming clear with the visual aid. I had no idea what they were talking about before lol.

45k..... i was really hoping to find one with under 30k but. this was close to home.. and was the only loaded 06 black on black with under 50k listed since my accident.. this car was listed today and i bought it today lol .. Ill still watch the market and if i see a lower mileage one for a good deal probably might get switch. some of the pics from the add.. did i mention it was close to home?? an hour and a half away.. ive owned 4 ls's now and this was the first one purchased in the state i live in lol.. lucky day 11-11-11 :)

Not nearly deep enough. Well I ruined the first one like 2.5 years ago. And insurance appraised it as being worth 5k more then I paid so it paid off my loan and bought a new one. Then this last one they also appraised it as 4k over what I paid. And the LSE I had my father just decided he does not want to see it sold so he's going to pay me for it. And so I got a loan on this last one. Only a 6k one. And I have 12k left which should be just enough for my 03 aviator kitty hawk as my winter car as soon as I can find one. So hopefully soon I'll have a loaded 06 ls and a loaded 03 aviator and only a 6k loan which should be paid off within 2 years. Wish I didn't have a loan. But in order to get 2 cars pretty sure it was necessary.

I can't wait to find an aviator and throw this ls in storage until march then get it out and do all the mods I want to to it right away so I can enjoy. Haha.
