Oil filter removal isn't difficult. You want difficult? Remove the steering rack without destroying the fittings on the rack or change the EGR tube or how about removing the driveshaft or fuel pump or drivers side valve cover? We won't even talk about the heater core. Changing the oil filter will look like childs play after doing those other things.

ive always used Mobil 10w40 on mine, along with Mobil 1 filter, never had an issue, and i live on the desert so summers are hell, anything lower than 10w30 is water out here........
