old person's car

I can tell you that I can't imagine anything I'd have to do on the LS being any worse than changing those on the SHO...

You shouldn't have said that! I have more cuts on my hands right now from trying to get the passenger sway bar bushing off tonight then I had when I pulled and rebuilt the trans in my 3000GT VR4 and that was an AWD sob! It's always the jobs you think are going to be simple that seem to get you...well, get me anyway!

Actually, I forgot about something when I said I'd never gotten an "old man's car" comment. Last month, when I turned 35, my brother called me so my two nieces (ages 3 and almost 2) could tell me happy birthday. After they talked to me, he and I started discussing something else when the older niece came back with something to say:

You're OLD!
Her parents claim that she came up with that on her own. ;)
At least she thinks I have a pretty car. :)

I wonder what they would said as the needle is passing 130 on fast trip to 140 mph.

And It's fun when the little HS kids pull up with their Ricers and you leave a line of black as you walk away from them. :wrench

Oh and I'm 43 teach 6th grade which make me a perpetual 12 yrs old. :Beer

Nice thing about my Mark VIII - No Car Payments!!!

Hi,I'm 48 years old.I guess you youngsters would call me an "old person", ride with me in my 2003 ls sport and you'll change your mind. You're as young as you drive.

Lighting Licks

Anyone who thinks the LS is for seniors needs to drive one. I work for Hertz and we have the opportunity to test drive many of the latest model cars, the LS being a favorite of most everyone who works there. I drove the 2005 LS8 and it is a car not for timid or faint of heart. It packs as much punch as the Jaguars that we drive with as much refinement. It is a true treasure to operate. Nothing in American Muscle and Luxury quite like it. :iconcur:

I'm 29 wife is 30 and we love our 02 LS V8 it's fast and its relieble and I don't think of the LS as an old persons car by far!! I love driving that car We just purchased the car not too long ago best investment in the world!!
:L :L :L

Ok well sh*t this pisses me off. When someone asks me what kind of car a drive and i say its a Lincoln LS right away they say "you drive an old person's car." Unless they know of the LS. So whatever. I want to take a poll on the age of LS owners :) lol :ban :thread:

Age- 19

19 years young man, i feel ya, but when they see you in it YOU KNOW WHAT THEYRE THINKIN!

im 21 .. 20 when i bought it.. yes with my money $340/mo with warrenty.-- PLUS i pay my own $225/mo insurance gas, rent, electric, utilities, AND college books and tuition... lol **if you cant tell i hate peoples parents buying them :q:q:q:q all the time and payin their bills, poor work/money ethics**.

but yes i get the same comment until they see the 20s choppin, with 1000w rms, limo tinted windows all way around, and the "TIZITE" plates..lol

alright im soo glad to see people talking about payment plans i was thinking these little rich kids parents bought them am ls. anyway im in the same boat im 21 i pay 196 on a 48 month plan. i was 21 when i bought it no parents ,
and for the old person part, im a painter and this is my painter "truck" jk, but this is the car i use to be a painter here in st. louis. definetly not an olds persons car nor a painters either, trying to find a new job for the car, so if anyone in stl is hiring im your man.

I'm 19, paying with my own money. College student, paying that with my own money too. Far from rich, the LS is the only real thing of value that I own. I was obsessed with them when they came out and I just had to get one. So if the LS is an old person's car, then grandaddy is getting all the looks, and the chicks. :steering

My age is 47 and purchased the LS two months back. A 2004 V8 Ultimate (missing the THX system). We (wife and kids) really like the car. Almost 10K on the odometer. The wife and I commute 80+ miles a day in it. Three week after buying it took it on a road trip/vacation and found this county road (www.tailofthedragon.com). It was a blast as was all the road.

I drive a towncar which is constantly called a old persons car. However I like to point out people who owned pickups used to be called hicks, now their just trendy. As for the LS I would love to own one looks more like a bmw than an old mans car. I found many people don't know anything about lincoln besides the brand name. I have a tc my dad has a continental I've had people i work with 5 years call both everything from a continental to a crown vic. Usually they call the tc a continental and vise versa. I neaver really understood why a car has to be uncomfortable or imported to not be an old mans car, but hey I'm not an ideot.

re:

24 year old male here... I got the same thing from my father when I told him I wanted a LS... "what the hell do you want a lincoln for? your grandfather drives a lincoln!" And yes while my grandfather does drive a beautiful town car, he won't drive mine (says it is too small). hehe

I am 21, I just got my LS and love it. It is definitely not an old person car, although a lot of old people do drive them, in Florida especially :-l :L :nxsmile
