Has anyone here painted their Mark VIII matte black? If so, please share some pictures. Matt black is now the rage for car finishes and I think it might look awesome on our cars.

just got mine into primer which is flat black ill post a pic later today looks pretty badass i think might keep it that way for winter

Not a lincoln, but I sprayed this one with Dupont Hot Rod black about a year ago and its held up very well so far. I think it looks best on older cars myself.

That looks very nice. You did a nice job getting it very even and with just the right amount of sheen. You obviously put a good amount of prep work to get it looking like that. I also think a quality paint paint job like that would look nice on a Lincoln as well.

I'm sorry, but matte black on a Mark VIII would be tacky. These are luxury cars. Matte Black makes it look like an unfinished project car.

Beautiful car in the signature by the way. Yes, I do respect your opinion. I thought the same at the beginning but it's starting to grow on me. Now even Rolls Royce is putting this type of paint job on their automobiles so it's even catching on amongst luxury brands.

Do it. If done right it may look real good. Just do it

It has to be....Time will tell. Whomever already knows this gets laughs everyday at our expense.

It is obviously a semi intelligent/intelligent troll. It is like he knows all of the little things that would make the semi educated and up Mark VIII owner go bonkers. There is no other explanation for it.

Wait, this makes no sense at all! Cars just a truck beater to you, what do you care how it looks?
Also a satin finnish isnt as smooth as a shiney clear finnish and that would cause more drag. Since you insist these cars should get 30+ MPG you are going the wrong way. You should sand all the paint off the car and just metal polish it. Also you know how new cars have those active grill shutters to help get good mileage? I think you should form a piece of tin and rivit it to the grill.

He could do the all out Mad Max look. Bust out all windows, put on some welded plates and barb wire. It would suit someone who slimes their bags.

You are kind of onto something. He wants more performance and mileage but is going about it the wrong way.

See he can replace the glass with plexi. That will save a good 100lbs.
Then just spray the windshield with RainX and he can dump the wipers and motor saving another 30 lbs.
Run some duct tape down all the pannel gaps.... hell, bet he gets over 30 MPG!

Here ill post a pic I've thought about doing a matte cordovan mark viii
