i have a quick question. if i take off the resonators and replace them with straight pipes, and replace the stock mufflers with flow masters will i have any problems with back pressure or anything like that? also does any one know how long the resonators are so i know how much straight pipe to buy?

thanks guys

It will sound horrible from my experience..The X-pipe will help with the flatulence

I think LSInBmore meant that it would sound fine if you put an X-pipe instead of the straight pipes.

Flowmasters have tons of backpressure. The name doesn't fit them worth crap.. They flow the worst. I believe they are about 11-13 inches long. Somewhere in there..

If you get flows without resonators it will sound LOUD but if you like that real loud muscle car sound then go for it. When you step on it though, it will sound a kinda bad, a little rattle/pinging noice in there too. You should do x-pipe and it takes that away. Flowsmaters sound pretty good with resonators on. Not too loud but loud enough to be heard and has a good volume inside the cabin, it's also louder than magnaflows even without resonators. They are not for performance though. You shold check out picture of the inside of them and should see why the aren't good for performance.

I have had borla, flowmaster, and now magnaflow mufflers. Magnaflows are decent but not as loud as I thought they ould be hearing andrizzles video, but they do sound nice

Not trying to jack your thread but it's still exhaust talk.

Will going from 2.25'' pipes to 2.5'' lower your exhaust's loudness?

Also, Comparing my exhaust to andrizzles video, his has more of a muscle sound to it and sounds a little louder than mine, well it sees like it.He left the stock pipes and I went with 2.5''. I have 5x8 and he has 4x9 oval mufflers, both 14'' long. Adding those number up, mine has 560 inches cubedof volume and his is 509, so would that mean his would be a little louder since it's has less volume and resonates the sound less?

i think im going to leave the resonators on for now and see how i like em and go from there and as far as the flow goes i dont give a :q:q:q:q its a not race car i just want it to sound cool.

I redid my whole exhaust from the cats back. I used 2.5" pipe with Magnaflow X pipe into Flowmaster Deltaflow 40's. I love the sound but there is some rattling, not sure if it's because of the cats or what. I will putting on new resonators this week because the rattling gets annoying.

I just have flowmaster 40 series welded in place of the factory mufflers and it sounds awesome. Not too loud until you hit 2500 rpms and then it starts to scream, but I also have an aftermarket intake tube and filter. I have a xcal 2 but going to put a X-pipe and cut off the resonators then get the tune.

I have a coustom intake as well I don't think I'm going to get rid of the resonators just yet though I think I might wat until after I decide how much I like the flow masters

If you're going for sound, like I was, then you will like the flows. I do.

i had super 44s on my last car but i didnt have resonators, it was made before america got its balls cut off

total thread hijack, no matter what you say, but since everyone basically ignored you its ok lol

thats sounds like it could be right though lol, less volume to me would mean that it would be louder, but thats just my opinion

btw wheres that video at? lol or did i just not see the thread

Well I did contribute and try answering his question so I did not completly thread jack, I think.

Andrizzle's had a video, I didn't.

As anyone had o2 sensor problems after taking out the resonators. Is there anything I have to do other than put the pipe in to replace them.
