scammed by member.......beware of GIPP

Gipp, I know you've been pretty busy and the box for my parts is going to be huge but do you have a time frame in which you'll be able to get the parts shipped out?
 
Communication is everything. That is all there is to it. Be straightforward, forthcoming and honest and life goes smoothly. How much happier would the guys complaining be if they recieved a preemtive message from Gipp informing them of his troubles and asking how they wanted to proceed?
 
Gipp is definately lacking in the communication department . It takes about 30 seconds to shoot a PM or E-mail....no excuse not to update us .
 
Man was I lucky!!! I bought 8 "lightly used" coils from him for $65 shipped and got them in like 3 or 4 days!

Sorry to hear about these terrible experiences....hope all of you can get it worked out.

In any sort of trade where one or both parties may or may not be honest, there is always a chance someone is going to be unhappy. Services like Paypal can't afford to guarantee satisfaction when the other parties involved are out for a dishonest buck. All they can do is warn you to be sure of who you are sending money to and what it is for and then make attempts to assist you in recovery in case of some issue. When a person is planning on taking the money and running, there is nothing anyone can truely do.

I'd personally say stay on him so he does't "forget" about paying you, and then just be happy it was only $25. If the guy is so down on his luck that $25 is making or breaking him, I feel sorry for him really. Not that there is any excuse for not properly conveying an apology or at least a partial payment or the parts requested. The fuel filter was truely BS.

I've read this thread 50 times and still dunno what being a Leo has to do with absolutely anything...
 
being a LEO is important when you are one I kinda felt thesame way.I dont end my threads with I'm a mechanic so what I say about cars is always right. I'm not standing up for gipp here but people get screwed all the time and usually deal with it but cops have a different set of rules. He was trying to use that as a scare tactic plain and simple. That is my opinion. I once worked with a guy who was going to school to be a cop and when i asked why would you want to do that he said " so I can do what I want". In the usa people bow to them out of fear hence the society of guilty till proven innocent unless youre wealthy. Also note that I didnt post for almost 2 years cause ofthe 8 months I did in hutch for possesion of pot. so my opinion may be one sided.:cool:

GLAD I FOUND THIS THREAD!!!! GIPP is in fact a scam artist, I sent him $100 plus for some used control arms and he completely scammed me. He has refused to answer any private messages since July and never sent my money back. Complete and utter scam artist, so no one send a check or paypal to

I was going to get some cheaper things off of him but what he did to Ckkidwell ( SP? :shifty: :D ) was just total BS!

Time or not, dont spend the money till you get the product out. Set it aside in another account or something!


Hmm, did have enough time to spend the money tho?
 
i forgot to mention I began PM ing with GIPP at the end of April and sent the payment at the beginning of May. It is now almost September and he apparently spent my $100 on Sea Breeze wine coolers.
 
This is why I only do postal money orders, dont send my shyte, federal offense..
 
I used to do that only too, but so many people, especially ebayers, don't want to mess with the Money Orders too much anymore it seems.

I was educated before I joined The Marine Corps. I turned down two academic scholarships which were worth over $80,000. Because I new what I wanted to do and set out on the path in which I could best obtain my goals.

Have you ever noticed that people that have served in the Army or Air Force say they were in "the Millitary".
But we, the select few that have had the courage to serve in the United States Marine Corps or Navy are proud and refer to our brance of servce.

I am a very proud member of the U S Airborne, 82nd Airborne, 173rd Airborne and the 2/503 Airborne (Separate) all collectively now known as Special Operations. I served from 1959 to 1965 and have always described my service as a Paratrooper as Army Airborne.:)
