Soon to be 2006 Ls owner :D

@ GODZ,

Unfortunately for you, Gilmer County Airport (49A) does not support Commercial flights.
So you are looking at driving some distance to get to a major outlet.
Pickens County & Dalton are also a no go.

Man, you are many millions of miles from a major airport dude !

Off to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, you go.

Fly or drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, GA (ATL) to Bradley International Airport, CT (BDL)

Score: http://www.travelmath.com/fly-or-drive/from/ATL/to/BDL

(it shows defaults as round trips, so divide by half)

http://www.travelmath.com/nonstop-flight/from/ATL/to/BDL

(it shows a default as round trip, so you'd need to find a one-way instead)

Then there is the option of http://www.priceline.com/

flights one way: One-Way flight from Atlanta, GA (ATL) to Hartford, CT (BDL)

Your dealership is right of the I-91 so be sure to tell them to Fn come and pick you up at the airport as a courtesy!

~ Might be easier or/or cheaper to get a car-hauler or like 'rsimmons' suggests of getting uShip to move it.

Hey perhaps we will see it on the show "Shipping Wars" that would be cool!

Yea I gotta go to ATL airport :/. Right now trying to get a cheap ticket from my sisters husband that works for airlines at airport in Denver. Hes trying to find open seats but kind of hard with xmas coming up :(

oh, listen up here ... if it's near airports do this,

Go to the rental agencies at your airport nearest to you, rent on a weekend for cheaper rates, tell them you want to drive it one-way to another airport and drop it there.

this is by far the cheapest, if you rent one-way but not airport to airport, they will charge a drop fee which is expensive.

I just rented a Mazda 6 that I drove for 5hrs down the main highway and dropped
at another airport to same rental agency (Enterprise) and only paid $40.15 for the one-way rental and I put 35 liters of fuel back in @ $42.

However, unexpectedly, I had to come back the next day on a Monday and the same rental on a week day was $52.

If it works for you, rent one-way from airport to airport, cheapest way I found to transport myself.

Appreciate it man.

How ironic. I have a cream colored one and every day I have to convince myself that the cost of that color as an option (like 3k or so) is a very good reason I shouldn't paint it. I don't know, it just isn't my first choice. It looks fantastic right after a wash but with the road grime that builds up the white becomes really dingy. That red however, I think looks like pure sex.

Haha too funny. Yea I wanted the color u got. But the red is already growing on me n I haven't even got the car yet :p def gotta get some gloss or flat black wheels on this bad girl. Im a very neat clean freak when it comes to my vehicles so u all better be ready for pics with her all washed n shined up haha.

Dannnggg big price tag to the nav. Glad mine came with it! Hows the sound quality of it n also the display?

Factory nav is one of the most overpriced options on any modern vehicle available. That being said I am very happy with the THX system. The midwoofers hit hard but bottom out before hitting very low frequencies, mids and highs are clear, good spatialization and separation. About as good as a mid range aftermarket setup sans subwoofer. The nav screen itself though is nothing to write home about. Utilitarian UI that looks rather dated by todays terms and relatively low DPI. The GPS navigation itself is actually really good but you are going to be ~6 years behind in terms on maps available. You can buy a new DVD but they're very pricey (~$200) or bootleg and burn one with the right equipment.

The THX sounds amazing for a factory system, add an aftermarket sub and amp to it and your golden.

Looks dated though.

The THX has subs in the rear deck.

Ask RollinLS if he can move it for you,
I know he'd need D-rings inside his rig to tie it down correctly but you never know, if he's going down that way.

Have you compared car-hauler prices ?

Thanx for the info :)

Ive been searching around & seems since holidays n time of year for winter birds the prices are pretty high. $600-900 depending on company n stuff. That would be awesome if I knew someone headed this way n would haul it down for cheap. Im trying to avoid flying up n putting about 1, 000 miles on the drive back. If you all know anyone that has plans on coming down this way let me know lol!

Well I may be getting kinda technical but they're not really full-fledged "subs" because they cant effectively reproduce sub-bass. What we have are mid-woofers. They are perfect for about ~80% of the bass frequencies you'll encounter in casual listening but every now and then (or predominantly in a lot of hip-hop songs) you'll hear them hit their limit.

I agree. From what I've read, they're mid-woofers. I think I've referred to them in the past as such.

If you listen to anything other than rap/hip-hop/dubstep or bass heavy music, theyre fine.

For everyone else they bottom out far too easy.

Edit. I see the switch for the adjustable pedals now. Peeking thru the hole in the steering wheel next to the resume cruise control button.

That not the left/right electric side mirror controls ?

No the mirrors are controlled by the button on the door. In front of the window switches.

:: DOUBLE FACEPALM
... My old Mazda had the mirror control at that spot we were referring.

T-Money, so I go to adjust my drivers side mirror and I remember this conversation and I'm looking at the door for the switch, I don't see it.
I look back at the position behind the steering wheel and there is my adjustment for side mirrors, just like my old Mazda, same spot. I laughed.

Obviously, mine is an 01 and pictured is a 06.

@Godz, hows it coming along, going down to get it soon ?

Everything is good to go. Car is mine officially but waiting for my license plates to get to dealership. State of Massachusetts doesnt let out of state buyers drive off lot without official license plates. No temporary tags allowed from what dealer told me. So monday they should be in. Looking at flights for monday n some days after new years. Looking like $180-200 one way ticket. Bout $200 in gas back here to Georgia. So god willing I will have it back here safely sometime next week. Its been killing mw waiting. Lol

Fingers crossed you get it home on that long drive without issue.
Another thread discusses another fellow picking one up from a dealership and nothing but major problems on the way home.

suggestion, get there early, before signing anything further with them, tell them you want
the sales manager in the car and you two are going for a "little ride". If she doesn't cough and spit or overheat, only then tell them "she's good to go" if not be prepaired to insist that they start opening their toolboxes cuz your not going anywhere on a long ride back home until all problems are corrected.

Get a word up front from them that they swear the thing runs right and there are currently no CEL's on the dash.

If there are any issue, you best tell them to have it all done by the time you arrive as to not waste your valuable time.

Also, not trying to be rude here,
but we are 118 posts into the thread, we are going to need to see some pics of you newly aquired LS
or we are going to call it BS soon! Almost taking longer then Alex7's Turbo install thread.

Hope all goes as planned and you get it home soon,
Good luck and ... no offense intended.

We want to see this LS soon!

You need to get some quality pics asap.

My eyes need to feast on a red 06, it's just to damn good looking.

I got the car over the weekend :) sorry for the suspense the delays. I gotta blame the dealership n the tag office lol. I got the car n fell in love when I walked out of airport in hartford, ct. N seen the car pulling up. The condition of the vehicle is almost show room quality. Very few imperfections. Im a very picky person n was overall sastified. Only stuff that bothered me was a easily fixable ding in rear driver side door very small scratches here n there that can be easily buffed out n I mean they are veey tiny n not even noticeable until I point them out. Like 1 or 2 rock chips on hood. No scrapes or anything on front bumper. Front license braket is driving me nuts and kills the look of the front end. Sucks it gots major holes where bracket is held. Thatll be fixed way later due to budget. I also noticed one of the side mirrors(driver side) is different from passenger side. Passenger side looks foldable but driver side is solid. Im thinking they clipped off the driver side n replaced it with older year model mirror? Carfax history is clean so im thinking they did it as a quick cheap fix? Color matches perfectly but can tell they are 2 different mirrors being picky like I am. I took some pics with my Galaxy Note 2. Sorry I dont have a nice HD camera guys. Weather sucks here n has been cloudy n rainy n will be the same rest of the week :(

While I'm waiting for these pics to transfer from my phone to PC. I gotta say this car does have every single option offered by Lincoln other than the chrome wheels that I know of. If these came with an optional spoiler in 2006 then chrome wheels n spoiler are only 2 things this car doesnt have. It did have the rear seat heaters n rear seat adjustable head rests. Adjustable pedals. Everything else was noticeable from the pictures. Also it does have factory HID headlights. Not sure what else we weren't sure of but all those I listed are there 8) WOOHOOO!! Also the advancetrac. Not sure if that was an extra option?
