Street Racing the LS

I would suspect that they set the limit according to what the cam's specs will support as well as what the rotating assembly can handle, leaving some leeway for reliability. The faster you spin an engine up, the better the parts have to be.

Yeah, I guess I was hoping for conservative specs like the first SHO Yamaha engines.

Not to be a dick but don't assume you can run my times.

ouch

By the way, do you still have the video of your ls doing a 0-60 or 0-100 run with the new gears? I run into your thread with the video here and there while researching on stuff and it always bums me out it was taken off before I got to see it.

Your not being a dick at all. Your proud of your time and your achievements.

A first gen with the 3 upgrades and the tune being aggressive, can hit around 14.3 I KNOW so because several people I know have done it.

If you don't mind my asking, who tuned your LS that you scored a best of 14.2 with 4.10 gears?

I used your 14.2 as an example. An attempt to provide proof the LS isn't slow by any means. But dont mind me, I talk out of my ass a lot :p

For the Record, with Stall converter, GT pump, gears, and locker on top of the 3 upgrades, should land your first Gen anywhere around 13.5

Cool video. I was very proud when i saw it back in the day...unfortunately the LS is on the bottle (lol whats the proper way to say it? Spray? NOS?)

But yea thats the only reason the LS is keeping up.

Can you provide any proof of this? The description in the video says notta..

it was in the description when it was first posted back in 2010, but for some reason it has since been deleted.

Perhaps the owner of the LS (guy who posted video) wants to get more credit than he deserves

I dodn't think I have them anymore.

The 14.2 was done with a Torrie tune

My best trap was with a ILLS tune. 98.66mph.

I do think a stall could help break into the 13s, but honestly think 13.9s not mid 13s.

The 4.10s are awesome but didn't shave time like they do with slower geared tranny. And I suspect the stall would be the same, take some time off but not huge.

Too bad its not as simple to mod these engines as the mod motors are.

.

Well now that's making sense to me!

I was running the same ILLS tune. Would explain how my LS can keep up at high speeds no prob with newer cars.

Anyways, i'm not running that tune anymore. I obtained a different tune, (programmed by ILLS) that was made much more aggressive on my friends first Gen. I noticed a HUGE difference right away. Using my Stock Second Gen as a comparison, with the first tune I will slowly pull ahead. Now with the aggressive, there's no contest. The second gen eats my dust.

I was thinking about doing the Stall... You don't think the Ford GT pump will make a difference? What about the Diff locker? I have no question those will help push you to a 13.5
