hey has anyone tried to put woofers in their trunk? i just want to put a single 10" in there but im not sure the best way to wire it. has anyone installed one and knows the best way to run the wire? is there any opening from the trunk to the back seat?

ya, a 10" should fit fine. You can run the wires under the back seat and through the trunk, the back seat just pops out by pushing in and up on it. If you are using the factory stereo and are using a line converter for the RCA's, you'll need to wire to the rear speakers, accessible in the trunk near the factory amplifier, if you need the wire colors let me know. I had to remove the spare cover and shim it in. I have a 10W6v2 in a slotted/ ported box that's HUGE. These cars aren't exactly known for their tunk space...:D
 
I have a single 12" in an enclosure that just fits sliding in under the package tray. The amps are mounted to the rear wall of the trunk. I was advised to go with 12" instead of 10" due to the size of the car. Sounds good. :Beer

Do you have a single box? Because I have 2 12" Rockfords in a single box but they wont fit in tunnel of the trunk, only near opening. Must be the box, it won't clear it by like 1/2". real stupid
 
I have 2 12's and the box I have fits like a damn glove. I had a box before that barely fit in the trunk of my Eldorado and there was no way it would fit in the Mark's trunk. I think my new box is just under 14" tall, which is about as tall as you can fit. Got it for $40 from my friend's sister.
 
I have a PPI 800 watt surfboard and two SPL Mule 1000 watters in a sealed box, fits perfect and SLAMS!!!

Just make sure you run the power down the drivers side and the rca's dead center under the console.

yeah it is a single box, with 2 12" diamond subs! the box fits fine.

I ran the power cable down the passenger side and don't seem to have any problems. Then again, I only listened to about 2 songs after I installed it and got in an accident (car's in body shop now). As far as RCA's I retained the factory stereo so I use a line converter and wired to rear speakers.

You'll be fine. You only "potentially" run in to problems when you run RCA patch cables next to your main power cables. You'll be fine running the line converters.

I have two 12" Kickers in the back of mine, fits like a glove

The changer is pretty much proprietary to FLM audio systems of the time period.

this is why i chose to use the factory stereo with my subs, I cannot live without the 10-disc changer, heck I wish i had a 40-disc changer

Dude... Buy a CD/MP3/WMA/Apple Lossless (new Alpine head) player and put 150 songs on every CD, blows a 10 Disc changer out of the water and if you are savy with computers then you can make them into CD quality files, but then you are down to 100 songs a CD.

I would if I had an extra $300 laying around, two words: college student
 
By the way, has anyone ever had rearview mirror problems? LOL... mine has already popped off twice from the pound of the bass. I have 2 12" Phoenix Gold's powered by a 750 watt Viper amp. Loudest bass my town has ever heard.
 
I have to agree with buying an MP3 CD player. They are much more convenient, than a trunk mounted changer.

It doesn't have to be the $300 Alpine (though they are nice). You have dozens of brands to choose from. A decent Pioneer model is only $126.
