Taking orders for gen1 heatshields

The heat shield fits great.

Ok, I was worried for a minute because everyone else said the heatshields fit great.

Do you have the one piece AMSI aluminum tube (LSK style) or the multi-piece tube with the rubber elbows? I have the one piece AMSI ebay tube and it fits great.

I'd like to know because I never designed the heatshields to fit the multi piece ebay tube. I'm curious to know if it fits with that intake tube also.

IDK, Im sure they could. They are fairly flexable so I dont know if that would mess with the powder coat or not. They are made of light gage galvanized sheet metal.

Powder coating will flex, but I would probably still fit the shield prior to having it done. The less bending the less of a chance it cracks :)

Pm sent, It's about time I pull the trigger on this!

I was wondering when you were gonna get one! I will be fabricating yours and a few others this weekend and shipping them out on Monday. Thanks!

edit: your PM didnt say which intake tube you have. Let me know and thanks again manoli

Thanks for the info, all makes sense, This heat shield is similiar to what I put on my 2002 F-150, 5.4L, K&N setup, with Flowmaster dual exhaust also, with crossover pipe. Everthing came with my K&N setup from throttle body to filter.

I have the multi-piece ebay intake tube with the rubber elbows. The intake tube seems to be pulled to the right(drivers side) with the heat shield installed. I didn't have time to play with it when I installed it and I haven't been in a garage since to mess with it. I'm sure it will only take some moving around with the intake tube and shield to make the engine cover fit.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

Got around to getting mine on today. Minor, and I mean minor, trimming across the top with a set of tin snips so that the hood would close but nothing major at all. Fits as advertised and looks good.

Thanks Hite!!

No Prob marc, I'm thinking about putting these on ebay. I have only sold 3 or 4 in the last month of two. I think all the regular members who want one have already purchased one. I get an occasional order from a new member here and there but not many.

I also still plan on developing something for the 2nd gen guys very soon.

Gen 1 owners, get on board and support a member who not only did us a very big favor but also a very quality job for an item that is not made for our LS.

On a sidenote, I do notice a nice change in the sound of the K&N introducing air to the engine. :)

Ya, when I installed the ASMI intake and the new K&N the intake sounded amazing. I'm getting ready to cover that sound up with a 2.5" custom manifold back exhaust system in the next week or two. The LSE should be inhaling and exhaling very nice!

Custom tune is next up my way.

+1 on ebay, get that on there asap.

I am a little hesitant to ebay these because I origionally told everyone that these would be an LVC exclusive item. I dont want to piss off anyone on here, but I have given everyone on LVC plenty of time to buy one so I probly will list them on ebay soon.

When I get the gen2 heatshields designed I will not list them on ebay for a few months to allow LVC members to get them before the rest of the world.

Or you could charge more for the ebay customers lol.

I just ordered the K&N for my Gen II and can't wait to see what your shield will look like for them. I heard the Gen I's made it sound better.

I will definately be charging more for them on ebay, $55 shipped. They will still be available to LVC members for $40 but they must PM me thru the LVC system to get them at that price.

Any member who's had this much time to order, and still would have a problem with you benefiting from a larger market, isn't a true member here....

Maybe another member would like to order it but doesn't have the cash to purchase it right away. Are you also say that future members shouldn't be allowed the same benefits as current members?

As I said earlier, LVC members will still be able to get these for the same price. On ebay they will be $15 more.

As Hite said both prices would be available.... I was referring to anyone who cared if he sold on ebay...

Finally got around to buying mine the other day and got it in the mail today. Great stuff guys! Support a fellow LVCer!

So how's that Gen2 heat shield shaping up? :)
