Thanatos 1998 ivory progress thread

Dude that looks great, i love it!
thanks man. I was looking at your car, and i was wondering how well your tail lights show through that tint. I like how that looks. how did you do that?

I like those much better then the old wheels. Wish the car could sit lower on them.

i want it lower too. I almost want to put the air ride back on. but its not as high as it looks in that pic, the street is very uneven and leans pretty bad near each curb. I should have a chance to take some better pics today.

Looks good man.

+1

That pic was the first time I'd seen those wheels on your car. Me likey.
thanks guys

I used clearcoat and a drop of black paint. Looks great in the daytime and normal at night. Very easy to clean and you can always wax it when u wax your ride.

like it and good work.looks like it will be very comfortable for a distance ride. wish ill. or chicago would let you have darker windows. but at nite it is a little harder to navigate with. hope you can make the beach party next year in wi. try some blue lights for the interior just a suggestion as always it's yours enjoy.

thanks and i have some blue leds installed, I guess the flash from the camera over powered them. it would be nice if we could tint them darker up here, i bake in the fvcking sun every day on my way too work.

Doesn't look like you'd have to lower it. Ain't a whole lotta gap left..Lookin' good though..

What I ment by lowered is the big wheels make the car too tall. The wheel well gap is nice but the whole car is too tall. If the wheel wells were a couple inches higher so the body could sit lower then IMO it would look excellent.

Guess I am just too old and never got the whole big wheel thing. I remember thinking 16" was big when I bought a Talon TSi in the early 90's

I got tired of the pearl white, and decided to paint it candy. The color is candy Winefire by sem with House of Kolor gold ice pearl. Her is a picture of it half done. it still needs to be re-assembled, buff, cut and detailed. And im also geting the inner barrel/lip painted. same color as body.

any opinions on brake caliper color? I was thinking yellow, or just color matched to the body.

Ill get more pics when its done, though my camera doesn't do it justice. It looks so good out in the sun. these pics and video are indoor lighting. Its covered in dust as you can see in the video and needs to be buffed, but i think it came out nice.

I like that color! will look amazing with a cut and buff!

thanks, i was going for something in between toreador and cordovan red.
i cant wait to see it when its done.
they called me in to com look at it 5 days ago to look at it but i couldn't get away from work. so i couldn't believe the shine on it with all that dust when i was finally able to go look at it. and the pearl effect is so much more dramatic in person wish i had a better camera to capture it.

I really like that color, i was looking for a similar color to paint my 96 LSC
Great job Man!!!

thanks man. ppg wineberry was my first choice, but sem was cheaper and it came out nice. And i say go for it. gen 1s look real nice read or black. imo

The paint in pics at least is almost the same color as mine
Mine has no name through just a little of this and that.
Morries said they had to do something like 20 tests to match the paint after my accident.

I love the color, but it gives me an overpowering urge to eat the car.

Just keeps getting better!

Are all the jams and under the hood/trunk painted as well?
