town hall meeting heckleing

Brown shirts!

Hey Obama! Taxation without representation is TYRANNY!

Unfortunately, I get the feeling we are going to go another round of bloodshed, but if thats what it takes thats it.. I am fully willing to get in the face of an Obamabot and beat the $hit out of it. To everybody, yes I am pissed and I will become violent when my rights are taken away by ignorant people who think they are God.

Agreed. Their actions are shameful.

What do you think about these links which seem to indicate that the deck is now being stacked with SEIU thugs to avoid any dissent or honest discussion.

Well, usually in cases like this I wait a couple of days - look at a lot of different sources. There will be two sides or more to every story - not all truthful or correct, not all lies and incorrect. On extremely controversial subjects the first stories out are often one sided, an agenda (on either side) needs to be addressed.

I have said this before - let's wait and see what happens in 24 to 48 hours. I have a feeling that SEIU is heavily involved, but who or what motivates them in these specific cases - I would rather wait for more information to come forward.

Ahem. YOU'RE the one who brought up a) hate in the town hall meetings and b) an example of hate from a Republican. So my statement stands.

Too bad my Democrat Congressman is a cowardly weasel and admitted on local radio that he didn't want to face any 'unruly mobs' and cancelled his town hall meetings...And yes, he used those exact words.

When you demonstrate anything other than that, I will. Until then, I will assume you are what you have continued to represent yourself as: A propagandistic shill for the Dems and the Alinskyites.

Isn't Mitch McConnell your Senator - you do live in Kentucky - how about attending one of his townhall meetings or Bunnings' meetings - your Senators will have meetings as well.

And odd, here I am going against my party - stating I don't like what they are doing or how they are handling this issue, I have done this in the past, and I will do this in the future. If anyone appears to be a propagandistic shill it appears to be you Foss - you seem to always be a cheerleader for the right.

Awwwww, another tu quoque from you fox...I knew you couldn't hold back - it doesn't fit your profile to be 'bipartisan.' I think you're just frightened because you see people waking up and doing something about it in a manner that you and your statist friends can't control.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

the end is coming for you obama, the people have spoken and if you do not listen you will go down in history as one of the worst presidents, or leaders for that matter.

Foss - Yep, I am pretty partisan, on many issues. There are some I am not - gun control is one... I think you are the one that fits the partisan mold much better than I do - do you have significant differences with the party Foss - have you said that it is good that their feet are being held to the fire lately foss? I have never been afraid to say that the Dems are stupid at times, I have often said how I don't like Nancy and think she is a terrible speaker. I know my party is far from perfect, and I haven't been afraid to criticize it.

And frightened is the last thing I am... I am a political creature, I love to see people involved in politics on either side of the fence. Much better solutions are presented if the two party system is working correctly - right now, it isn't, and some of the solutions are pretty bad (the health care bill for instance).

So, enjoy going to your townhall meeting - my first one is this afternoon - it will be interesting to see how it goes. But, it is in Boulder, dissent probably will be fairly sparse...

Tsk, tsk, fox...I know you're sorta new to this place, so that gives you an excuse. But everybody else knows that I have been the MOST critical of the Republicans in the last few years. I even argued against McCain during the primaries in the most vehement terms and got into a few fights with Cal and Bryan, and there was some name calling back and forth.

I understand you're not capable of doing a search, so I'll ask Calabrio and Shag to vouch for me on that.

Absolutely true.
Fossten is completely independent.
And rightly so. While others were trying to be pragmatic, Fossten stood, unabashedly and unconditionally, entirely on principle.

So you're totally off base with that charge, foxpaws.

Are you? I don't join mobs - mob rule doesn't interest me.

Perhaps you didn't notice the quotes around "mob."
The only mob that might be at one of these meetings will be the profession, rapid response teams put together by the friends of the administration.

The effigy hanging .....is an example of hate that could escalate, something, as I state, that we need to watch out for. No matter where the hate happens it is wrong.

It was in poor taste and, noting the political situation and the way the media works, foolish to do. But look at the goofy grin on the guys face. The effigy like that is an old tradition. People used to hang or burn effigies before football games. Bad taste, poor judgement.

Of course, he might just have been taking notes from these people:

NYC_RNC_Protest_Bush_on_Noose.jpg

That was a protester outside the RNC Convention in New York....
and yes, that was supposed to be President Bush at the end of a noose.
interestingly, I didn't see that on TV afterwards.

The difference in the way Republicans handle the aggressive, organized, rabid mobs of the left is notably different than the panic and hostility being exhibited by the political left in this country by a just regular people expressing the concern and fear in a public forum.

And the coverage by the media is shocking-

Sorry foss, as of the time I have been on the site, you haven't come down on Republicans..

Plus, I wouldn't have a clue on search parameters for your 'anti Republican' posts.

Maybe as of late you have just expended all you energies being critical of Dems and haven't had any time to look at the Republicans.

Maybe? Oh, so since your pathetic little talking point failed, you're resorting to speculation?

Maybe if your party wasn't such a collection of corrupt f***ups I wouldn't have so much to criticize. I certainly don't see you criticizing the Republicans lately.

But trust me, fox, I haven't begun to expend all my energies.

So, I guess you miss the part where I said I was sorry.

Well, the Republicans haven't been coming up with any alternate solutions... they seem to be in some sort of state of suspended animation. It is hard to criticize 'nothing'. I will say that it must be hard for them, that any of their legislation wouldn't make it through, but they should have some sort of different ideas that they can present. That way they could point to some solutions that they think would work. Instead of just saying 'bad, bad, bad', they could have a positive alternative. I would love to see what they would do regarding health care - the current system is riddled with problems, what would they do to make things better?

Used to you being sarcastic when you say it.

Well, the Republicans haven't been coming up with any alternate solutions...
HAHAHAH! I was waiting for somebody to proffer this absurd canard. The Republicans have been shut out of the debate proceedings. They haven't been given a voice, haven't been consulted. In case you didn't notice, Nancy doesn't need the Republicans to pass the horrid House bill. And anytime somebody on the Republican side complains about the lack of bipartisanship, they have to listen to Barry Soetoro say, "I won." So quit bitching about the Republicans. Your Democrats are going to bear the responsibility of their own disaster this time.

And you're wrong in merit as well. You still don't get it. Government's role is not to solve social problems. Healthcare in this country is very complex. The government cannot even run a tiny $1 Billion program, and they're supposed to be trusted to run our healthcare?

Furthermore, this Trillion-dollar monstrosity hardly resembles anything that could be called a 'solution.' Your boys and girls are going to destroy healthcare in this country. You can look at Canada and Great Britain to see what kind of waiting lists people will have to get on when they need medical treatment.

Wow, you really need to get your nose out of the Democrat tent for five seconds. Don't you even know how to use google? Not that you'd be interested to find out if there is a Republican plan out there, but I found it in, oh, three seconds.

First - you are assuming it will get through as it stands, I don't think it will. Second - you keep assuming that I am for government run healthcare - I have no clue where you get that idea. Third - you keep assuming they are all my 'boys and girls'. Fourth - you keep 'assuming' so many things foss...

I know that the Republicans will get shut down - but, there is nothing on their side - including their 'plan'. You don't have the link to it foss - it is called the "Patients Choice Act" It is actually very similar to the Democrat's plan - you can read a 'quickie' overview of it here.

You like it Foss? You like the Republican plan? I am shocked, it is pretty liberal...

They don't have a plan - they don't have a real solution either. It is sort of Democrat 'light' with no direction at all.

So you've moved from 'no plan' to 'I don't like their plan.' Nice backpedal fox. Moving the goalposts as usual.

And your boy Obama assumes the plan will get through as it stands as well...hence the hate rhetoric coming from the White House. I'm merely taking his word for it. Do you know something that he doesn't?

Foss, have you gone to a town meeting or anything similar? You would see what I mean when I say it won't get passed as it stands... There is no way the Reps are going to put their heads on the chopping block for this legislation. They know they have to run next year -

And yes, I did move the goalposts - I had forgotten about the Patient Choice Act - it came out in May, which seems like a while ago now. But, did you read it Foss - it really is Democrat solution 'lite'... I would think you wouldn't like it at all, it even praises many parts of European (socialist) health care systems.

Which is why the Democrats tried to rush it through and pass it BEFORE the August recess.
