Turbo kit thread

Damn there is not much room under there!

I understand the wheel lift concept, but that is cutting it reeeaalll close. At least on my car.

Because I can see on those A-Arms on my LS where I sometimes scrape on humps. And those pipes are awfully close to that point.

Yeah, we'll see how close it is when I get it and drive it around and then you'll get a better idea of it once it's on the ground.

Will you be able to have fog lights?

In the first picture the pipe seems to be hanging down quite a big, but the second it looks more hidden.

That's some crazy routing, not much space. Also, good looking welds.

Not the stock set up for fogs since you have that bulky brakcet and the fog that mounts behing it, instead of in front like the reg bumpers. I'll be figuring out a solution for that, some sort of shallow fog. I'll see how much room I have to work with and what options are out there or what I can make work.

Yeah, the welds are real nice. I've been looking at other turbo builds and some have pretty rough, crappy welds.

I'll take lowering springs out all day long to raise ride height allowing for turbo pipe clearance....:D

Thats some impresive work so far cant wait to see this thing when its done.

Just a little more clarification from Brett

-Our turbo kit is not designed to be a custom turbo kit, if it was then it would cost a lot more. It is being built to be a production kit. It will include piping to replace the H-pipe and reach to connect the aftercat connectors. Our turbo kit will not mess with the aftercat. So if your aftercat has an x pipe in it then your turbo kit will have an x-pipe, as you retain your aftercat. And regardless if it does the x- it will not have any affect on the turbo kit.

-Catalytic converters. All turbo and supercharger kits that do not have a Carb EO number are considered not street legal kits. These kits will be sold accordingly. This is the same for any Ls supercharger kit, unless it had been granted a carb EO number. If no number exist then whether or not it has cats or not the kit is still considered not to be street legal. However, if your are looking at putting a turbo/supercharger on your car then smog usually is not your first concern.

The tittle says Turbo kit thread and I posted some info of the kit, like this that he wrote a while ago

I'm planning on opening a new business focusing on turbo kits, exhaust, carbon parts, and big brake kits 14" 4-6 piston brembo kits, which I am planning to fit your vehicles, as well as the kits for the new mustangs, camaros, and challengers, and any other cars that catch my fancy.

So no it won't be a one-on-one thing... I'm trying to make a kit that you can order, will arrive quickly, and will be installed and offer you a reliable horsepower option. I'm planning to have the kit arrive with SCT programmer and file all installed to get the vehicle up and running.

So yeah, an actual turbo kit, LS specific

So..... How are you planning on passing smog? I know they don't usually actually look at the cats, but will it pass the sniff test?

I would suspect not..

I'll just return to stock or something. I have a year until then, we'll see.

Only reason I ask is it's a little hard for me to get to Oceanside, Nobody around here would even attempt to build a kit for an LS!

You don't need to come to oceanside. The point of the kit is for us to be able to install it ourselves . You can do it in a day, maybe a few hours, or you can have a shop do it, but the hard part has been done and now everyone can easily install it themselves without custom work.

So Alax, would you mind asking Brett if he plans on making V6 kits for both gens since he has already worked with the 6?

Pretty please:D

Nice progress. Really looking forward to some video of it.:)

yeah, thats awesome, finally a kit.

He wants to do one for the v6 too, eveything would be the same as far as pipe routing/design, but just need a v6 to get the headers from. Any v6 guys in so cal that are interested in helping out, PM me, a discount will be given for your help.

I think this dude knows he is going to make bank off of this forum in terms of kit sales.

The quicker he finishes Alax's car the faster he knows the templates for all the kits and can start "mass producing". I hope he doesn't make kits and nobody on here buys one though.

That is a lot of money in this type of economic situation.

I have been buying lottery tickets so I can get one... lol

Just let the green-backs do the talking.

The results are sent directly to the state. The only read-out provided is a copy of what the state gets. The operator has no control over the test results.

That's f__king awesome! I'm psyched!:hump:

Personally I would make them on a pre-order with wait time basis. Plus I'd like to see some of the tubes formed into more of a one tube form to allow more free flow.
