Well, I decided it was to big of a pain to have a rear facing car seat in the Thunderchicken so I picked up a new ride.

I am not a fan of the current body style F150 except the Raptor. I am not brand loyal, but I have always leaned toward Fords. But with the pricing on Rams right now you get a lot more truck per dollar.

I really liked my dad's '05 2500 Hemi. He traded it in for a 1500 Sport (has all the creature comforts) but didn't seem as peppy. Maybe it uses different gearing and tuning than the 2500.
 
That's one sick truck, i wanted one ever since that new body style came out. Best one yet imo. I saw one by me with 20s, the rims were matte black with a big chrome star in the middle (forgot what brand it was), smoked tail lights, dark tint and HID's. nice truck, good luck with it
 
Nice truck Alan. My wife wants me to get one also so. She likes a black F-250 crew cab modded with a ten inch lift .

Even the 1500s with 3.90 gears are turds. It's a big truck. AND there is 16 spark plugs which I did not know until I talked to a guy at work that has an 04

Lol, they're still quicker than stock mark viiis (any Gen), and with similiar mods run better than even the Fastest Gen 2 NA in the Midwest but then again NA mark viiis are turds anyway ;)
 
Thanks guys. It does have the 3.92 gears with anti-spin(posi). I don't think it will take my buddy's 2wd super crew ecoboost with 3.73s, but yes it would dust a stock mark. Its not for racing anyway just to haul me and my mountain bike everyday and the family when we don't feel like driving the Aviator.

From what I have seen those should be mid 14 second capable, a little faster than the high 14's my 6 speed '11 Frontier runs at the moment (but is starting to get modded). The Hemi Ram should be pretty easy to make into a 13 second ride if you wanted to.

What are you smoking and where can I buy some:confused: Stock Rams do not run 14s and you appear to be on the wrong forum.
 
Stock Hemi Rams most certainly do run 14s. My truck "should" run a 14.5-7. Stock regular cab short beds have hit 13s. You probably shouldn't argue about things you don't know.

Makes sense. Yeah i see lots nice lower mileage 09-10 rams going for low $20K. Most of those are with the 4.7 though which is a decent engine but not a true hemi. still makes 300 horses though.

I would add stepbars, a decent dual exhaust that isnt too loud and a bed cover.

You do know stock they push 390hp? And yes they have 16 plugs, two per cylinder thats a trademark of the hemispherical design.

No, I argue about things I have heard. The guy I speak of with the 04 has a buddy that he fishes with all the time that picked up an 09 for towing the Crestliner and he ran a 15 flat in it at the track. That was his best time along with a bunch of low 15s. Then again, we are at an altitude disadvantage here and the track goes UPHILL.

My bad, I've heard about what these trucks have done in real life and came on here and argued with a bunch of guys that have no timeslips and never raced them. Shame on me. :rolleyes: Either way, have fun with it.
 
I had a little run in with a newish Ram with Hemi written on the side. Just a stop light on the four lane to Victoria and we go to about 120 Km. Dead even, we laughed at each other, and I went on.
 
hey ppl im new here ive had a 98 mark 8 for the past 2 years 117k all stock has a few problems though nothing like what u guys have anyway I'm pretty sure my vlcm just went out ive been going through threads and thats what it sounds like pops the 40 amp fuse every time the fan kicks on
