Waiting Room

i change the oil and sweep the floors ;)

hell, I'd even change out the urinal cakes!

not going to lie, three of my all time favorite cars are Johnny Bohmer's "Badd GT" and Mark's and Mullet's GTs that kevin built! if I ever win the lottery, I'm sending a GT down to M2K!

I cant wait to see one of them hit 300 MPH in the mile!

the goal is 292 on the mile gt at the end of march. the air shifter on the 6 speed is working,
so we have a good feeling about hitting the #. if any of you guys go, please stop by the
m2k paddock and say hello !

You guys almost had to do without me going forth, but no such luck for you all, damn flue/cold nearly killed me!
Glad you made it, man. I caught one in Canada last weekend that was trying to do the same to me. Somewhere between it and Tamiflu left me with SJS. I'm still covered in painful blisters, on heavy pain medication, and taking a corticosteroid to suppress my immune system for a while. Scary stuff.

Glad you'll be alright, yeah I don't fully know what that was (probably beta testing released from the Feds on an overhead flyby) ... but the wife brought it home from work, she was in bed for three days straight, just as she finished it knocked me into useless wimp mode, body aches and shivers like I had never felt before, it hit hard, was horrible but recovered somehow quickly also, very weird.

on a separate note: I completed all the required testing, paperwork and orientation, they send me back home loaded with a 2014 Pete 579, heading out tomorrow for Georgia, hide your wives and children, place the sandbags in front of the doors, you angry little muppets .... Rigs coming through a town near you!

UUUGGGHHHHH! These so called mechanics that paid good money for their education on the LS ENTHUSIASTS Facebook page. They are killing me. Any mechanic that doesn't know the difference between coil over shocks and struts, I don't want working on my car. Why did I join that group? LOL

They are coil over shocks, not struts. They are coil on plugs, not coil packs. They are coil over shocks, not struts. They are coil on plugs, not coil packs. They are coil over shocks, not struts. So, who made you write that on the chalkboard???

I wanted to fly to NY and knock their fvcking heads together. GAWD.

But wait.......I can still put HIDs in The halogen housing, though, right? I mean they are just brighter and stuff. So I can see better, though, right? I mean, it is baller, though, right?

I've been reading up on HIDPlanet and as it turns out, halogens glare too (well, there's a debate). The problem is ideally, you want a parabolic reflector, a parabola can only have ONE focal point. This is a problem for halogen filaments because they are a relatively long line, so some of it does not reflect out of the parabola correctly. This is why reflectors are multi-faceted. It breaks up the bowl into a few, slightly different parabolas that focus on different points of the filament.

HIDs are brighter and exaggerate this problem. However, their light still comes from a slightly different point in the bulb, and by extension a different point in the reflector, throwing it all of the OEM-glare issue by the wayside.

Interesting.

Honestly though, My LS has some of the best halogens I've seen, even with relatively normal bulbs (Sylvanias that coem in the red packaging?)

There's a very good reason that no aftermarket HID conversion is legal in the US. Brightness of the bulb is not that reason. The reason is in how the light comes out of the bulb and that doesn't match with a reflector that is designed for halogen. Google it some. There is a lot of information out there. (I wish the police around here would enforce this. I can instantly tell the factory HIDs from the aftermarket HIDs by the painful glare.)

Yes, I understand all of this. I was being facetious. :N
