Waiting Room

Hmm, looks like an LS, sounds like an actual car... nice, I like it. When do you plan to take it to the track?

eh, no plans to really. i may take it eventually, but i daily it. i'm sure if i could get a good 60' and keep from
having to pedal it, the car would be a low 11 second runner, and with the shot, high tens. problem is, without
a mini tub, these gto's cant get a wide enough tire to really hold any hp ( which it will be getting this fall ).
then i'll track it.

Cool. When I track anything of mine I just go to the test and tune night, not the actual race nights. My mistake though, for some reason I thought that was a Lincoln LS in the video, shows just how memorable I find the back of my own car (not at all.) Those GTOs are pretty nice little cars just right out of the box. Was going to buy one new, but when they were out my local dealers had "market forces" pricing, where they added about 12 thousand to the sticker price. When I saw that sticker I decided I wasn't even interested in doing business with that dealership and I've never set foot on their lot again.

man, i 'd like to think so ! i just replaced all of the a/c bits, now a new engine...
coilovers are fairly new, trans is in great shape. hopefully it will last me another
few years. this is the longest i've ever kept a vehicle though.

hate to tell you this bro... but that day was a little while ago... its been out for a little bit now... but really, its not quite the same kind of flat plane crank like you see in all the exotic super cars... while the crank is lighter than the normal 5.0 crank, its not quite the huge difference like the ultra light weight cranks you see in some of the Italians...

but let me tell you, that fukcer sounds crazy good! and does make some serious NA HP (pretty much the same HP at the much larger 427 LS7) and it freaking revs forever! not quite the rip your face off low end TQ that you see from the LS7 but once it gets up into it power band, it just keep pulling harder and harder and doesn't ever feel like its going to give up!

honestly I would really like to see how the new 7.0 Z28 and the 5.2 GT350R actually match up together! it would be a battle of epic proportions for sure as they are two of the best track built muscle cars out right now!

actually looks like that has already been done!!!!

Nice read. I see the Camaro still needs to go on a diet, it's a real fat boy in the muscle car arena. It SHOULD be able to beat the Mustang by the numbers on HP and torque, but when you're carrying an extra person's worth of weight around... still and all though, I just can't seem to like the Camaro. Still looks like the passenger compartment is a pill box. Interesting description on the Mustang sound with the flat plane crank, a cross between an American muscle car and a Ferrari? I can almost imagine it, would still need to hear one in person.

really it sounds nothing like a Ferrari, it actually some very similar to the standard coyote but just keeps revving for a week longer. I wont lie, as great as it sounds, I don't think I have ever heard a better sounding motor than the LS7!!! the VooDoo is pretty close but that big block sound just sends chills down my spine!

also, good news, the Camaro 6 did go on a diet and is no longer a fat pig (actually weighs less than the pony) now if only someone over at Fix It Again Tony can figure out some way to put the dodges on a very big diet... since the heaviest Camaro weighs almost a half a ton less than the heavies Challenger/Charger.

It only lost 250lbs over the last one, the 2015 weighs 3935lbs and the 2016 weighs 3685lbs (not official) and the Charger weighs 4253lbs. This is 568lbs more than the current Camaro. But, we are comparing apples and oranges here. The Charger is a midsize sedan, the Camaro is a subcompact coupe. The only car Chevrolet makes that competes with the Charger is the SS. The Challenger would be the Camaro's direct competitor, and weighs 4202lbs or 517lbs more. There's where your diet needs to be.

Nothing on youtube sounds quite right. What I can tell you is that there's no mistaking the sound for anything other than an American V8. I'll admit it's a little tinny, but it does have some characteristics of the original Bullitt. We've had 4 GT350s roll through our showroom. They seem to always be left in the open exhaust mode, creating a mix of scares, smiles, and scowls when it starts up indoors. I haven't driven one, let alone crank it up to the 8200rpm redline, but it still creates a hell of a presence.

Funny ... the first one in the vid 07:44 towards the end, the one in that Macklemore thrift shop dress, she looks like she rides horses for a living alright!

Good video, pretty close sound-wise. I totally forgot about Hipster MackleThor's video. Still, I feel like it has some more life to it in real life

they always do, but then again, My computer pumps its sound through a fairly robust surround system, so as long as it was recorded well on Youtube (that was clearly shot with a cell phone...) I get the true sound.

did a little valvetrain work today. put some bushed trunions in the factory rocker arms, and installed
a bit longer pushrod as well...

lots of bottom wear on the trunions we pulled out. had about 45k miles on them.

Yeah so ah ... back hauled 53ft near full trailer of Whiskey and Vodka. Oddly enough by the second day I had forgotten what was behind me. Didn't get any samples. Job is a Job. Smokey and the Bandit got paid is all that matters.

While my 535i is getting repaired (a 12"ish high retaining wall jumped right in front of my bumper!!!) I have a 2015 Challenger. I would NEVER purchase this car. There is absolutely NO visibility past about 3:30! Changing lanes to the right is an experiment in I-sure-hope-I didn't-miss-something! It's the V6 and drives OK and the looks are KILLER! Maybe it's time for rear-view cameras instead of mirrors!!

seems to be the common thing these days in the big three's sport/muscle coupes... none of them have any visibility toward the rear, and the mustangs are the worse cause so many of them are sticking on either the rear side window louvers or the GT500 scoops and then you really cast see sh!t!

Maybe it's time for rear-view cameras instead of mirrors!!

a blended 3 camera system would completely eliminate any blind spots kinda like the 3 camera front view system ford has started using.
