I got my HU installed with a 4 channel amp. Still running stock speakers which actually sound pretty good for stock. I am planning on changing all 4.

Any of you have any components up front? which ones? 5 1/4", 6 1/2"?

cut the factory wiring.... still working fine to this day. i put mine in not long after i got the car 2 years ago.

this is exactly how i did it: http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/348671/4

If your worried about putting the factory sp back in later either leave enough wire on the plug when you cut it off to reconnect it or leave the factory plug, strip the wires back before the plug and solder the new wires for the new sp.

Those connectors are a joke, no professional installer I have ever worked with liked them. Just one more connection to go bad. It was just another ploy to remove $10-$30 from your wallet. Cost is $4 or less.

Just my oppinion.

Well we used dynamat extreme and did the whole inside shell of the doors and we cut some templates to bolt into factory holes, then i just used those styrofoam baffles. I had those in an old car stereo i competed with and kept them looking like brand new for years, and they sounded very good. Ya, all components are amped.
