What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

I had that car up to 110... the one that the shaft came out of...
With 3.73's it starts to hum at 100 and then you can feel the vibration in the floor at 105. I will try indexing it this weekend and see if I can make it better, if not then I will get a Dennys or something. I can resell the shaft for $100 and the balence would be close to $100 plus they would need it for at least 2 days and thats another $110+ for a rental car. For a little more I can have something thats better and doesnt put me behind the wheel of a POS BG car for a couple days. :)

Did you align the mark on the drive-shaft with the mark on the companion flange when you fitted it?

Dont know, Superman did the install. It was dark and after 1am and we had already worked 15 hours by the time it was bolted in.

Oh, that SVO guy did it. Didn't know that, as I hadn't been following your thread. He would have aligned the marks, I'm sure.

I DROVE MINE!!!!! I DROVE MINE!!!!!!!
well after it took along time to jump it, i decided to swap the battery into the truck and drove it around for a day then tossed it back into the car, fired it up WOOT! come on spring!!!!

Rinsed it of and brought it into work today. The fuel pump and driveshaft will be going in soon now that it has warmed up.

I did this with my parts mark, not today but Sunday.

Its a crappy pic but its all I could grab as it was being hauled off to the scrap yard. I was a bit sad to see it go, all the good times we had, the oil leaks, busted knuckles, parts destroyed in shipping, mean looks from the neighbors. Ahh Good times.

I Ordered a fresh bottle of Zaino Z2 Pro from the zainostore.com. I cant wait for it to come. I love this stuff. Time to wax is slowly approaching!

My last 2 weeks consisted of buying a $17 angle grinder from harbor frieght. Trimming the rear fenderwells to swallow the used 275 runflats that I picked up in Dec. 3 coats of rustoleum to keep the crap out of the seams.
I paid $300 for a 2.25 cat back with a fabbed H-pipe(sounded like A$$!) So Friday I picked up a magnaflow x muffler & replaced the H-pipe with it. It's much more civilized now. My last exhaust came from speedfreak.cc in 03, so this was a steal!
I still have to reclaim the trac-loc from the 95 that I sold to my little brother, as well as the drive shaft from the 93 that I sold to my other brother (Daryl, lol)
& i've still gotta perform a J-mod at some point. Those sloppy shifts are so much more pronounced with an exhaust! Speaking of which...

What I did today to my MARK

I steadied my self with my left hand fingers on Her hood while squeezing past her going thru our garage heading for my Orthapedic doctor to check on my REINJURED KNEE. Drained 1 1/2 tubes of water out (of knee). In pain and on PERCOCETS. This crap has been going on since the first of JAN. I took the PU.
Kinda mad at my wife because her DAD always had MERCURYS and she referred to the MARK as a MERCURY in a conversation with a friend when we were out for spaghetti. OOPS IDOLS COMING ON AND SHES' HOLLARIN' "GET IN HERE!"

Finished my front suspension. What a major PITA. My fault though, I opted for the parts from SCP instead of getting made in USA MOOGS!

The sway bar ends links had to much taper and would not pull up into the knuckle or sway bar end. Bill said "Torque them to spec and be done with it." Yeah right, still 3/16 -1/4" of stud showing on the ball end after torquing. Bought TRW end links today and fit like a glove.

Torqued rest of the Tiwan crap and then noticed the boot on driver LCA is loose, not gonna hold grease and will let water in. Boot on pass LCA twists every time I turn the wheel so it will rip soon and be worthless as well.

Nobody twisted my arm to buy the parts so it's all on me. Start saving money to by the good parts and get ready to do this again.

End of rant :)

i have said it over and over and over again do not get that taiwan :q:q:q:q. i'm not giving you a hard time but i have been through the same boat you are in and i cant stress enough dont do it!!!

Wow, I really hate hearing that. I just replaced my entire front end with SCP parts. It didnt take long and its not that hard but I hate paying for alignments.

I know Jamie, I've seen your posts! And I know MOOG is the ONLY way to go. All the $$ I thought I was gonna save is swirling down the toilet!

Know how I knows you is teh ghey?

if you haven't yet tried fingernail polish remover - try it, it takes scuffs right off, but if it is broke the paint, I wouldn't.
