What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

You know how craigslist is flaky you never know if the person you talked to will even show up. Well all i did in anticipation for the no show was move my papers out of the car. Well what actually happens? The guy shows with 5k cash in hand  Ithink it was harder on my wife to say goodbye to it. Once the boys are out of the car seats ill find my dream mark. Im not going anywhere. Its to much fun hanging around you guys.

wow. $5k. not bad! but stick around man!

also of note... bought left and right air suspension shock assemblies. (no worries, i looked up the terminology for you guys. you know who you are!! ;)) hopefully amazon actually has them.

LONG LIVE THE AIR RIDE!!!!

Sent it to its new home today :(

Oh man that sucks. That's a super nice Mark! I sure hope it went to a good home with a person who will respect and take care of it.

Good for you! I hope to get a set myself eventually. If they're still available when/if I ever have any money:(

As far as the car, it's sitting for a while. The front end is toast. Lower ball joints are about to pop out, SRB's are disintegrated, and tires are showing belts. So I need to install my new LCA's and SRB's and get a pair of decent tires. Looking at about $150 for the alignment and tires. I have no idea when I'll have that kind of money to spend. So my car's sitting in my parents' driveway and I'm driving the '97 30th Anniversary Cougar for the foseeable future. Life sucks sometimes:( Although I guess it could be worse. I could be stuck driving some crappy little wrong-wheel-drive Korean POS:D

Thanks! I actually really like the Cougie:) My mom has had in since about 1999 or so and it has just over 130k on it. Still runs, shifts, and drives like new. Right now the only big thing is that it needs UCA's and rear upper shock bushings (clunk!! over every bump:D). Could also use a paint job. But it's still a really nice car. And for a 205hp SOCH 4.6 it's pretty dang fast. I've been trying to get her to sell it to me but she just won't come off it. She's got a 2008 Mustang V-6 convertible that she drives every day. The Cougar is just the "spare". But anyhoo, I hope to get the Mark back on the road in a couple of weeks if all goes well.

Well, I had a four wheel alignment done with two new tired up front, new upper control arm bushings for the rear, new toe link compensators for the rear and the car still shakes like a salt shaker. Its about a second per side. SHAAAAKE........SHAAAAKE repeat. From 70-80 it does it. I will have the rear tires balanced soon, its been about a year and a half since they were balanced when i got new tires.

Sounds like it could be u joints.

Well, the wife had a fender bender in the Cobra yesterday.

Some guy slammed on brakes in front of her and she didn't have time to stop so BAM! Thankfully, it didn't do any structural damage and she's fine except for a bump on her head where she hit the steering wheel. The other car was a 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon and it barely even got scratched:confused: Good thing we have collision. We're getting an estimate Monday morning and hopefully it will be all fixed up by the end of next week.

On a side note for all my fellow Trekkies:

My new Facebook background image:

I just couldn't resist:D I was watching "The Walking Dead" and browsing Star Trek stuff on the interwebs and came across this on a T-shirt.

yikes. but like you said, looks minor.

also, the battery doesn't look like its sitting flat. is that normal? or did it jostle loose in the impact? might be worth taking a quick look.

Hmmm. Didn't notice that. I wouldn't be surprised if it did get bumped around a bit. I'll check it out this afternoon after work. But the majority of the damage is the header panel and pretty much all the plastic behind the headlights and grill. The headlights are duct taped on right now because they were literally hanging by the wires. I've got a feeling the estimate is going to be high. And we've got to come up with the $250 deductible somehow:(

Well it looks like the supercharger project is on hold. That money will instead be going to my dentist. :(

I cleaned the engine in my 97 blk on blk and bought a white Collectors Edition that is hit in the front. I will pick it up in Miami on Sunday.

Is that the one that was posted in the for sale section a while back? If it is , glad to see somebody is going to save it.

Hopefully, I'll be installing my new LCA's and SRB's this afternoon if I get off work in time. I'm looking forward to gettin the ol' girl back on the road again:) Alignment next week if all goes well today and she'll be back in action. I started her up and drove her up to my grandmother's house yesterday to park in the driveway. My grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago and we're trying to keep alternating vehicles in her driveway to make it look like someone's home all the time. My Mark doesn't like to sit for long periods. When I cranked it up, it sputtered and ran like crap for about 2 or 3 minutes before it finally smoothed out. It's been sitting for about two weeks without being started. Anyhoo, I'll update later if I get everything done (with pics:D)!

Well, got my driver's side LCA and SRB installed. Hopefully I'll get the other side done next Saturday. I won't have time tomorrow and I've got ORT all next week. Anyhoo, here's some pics:

Yeah, I know the SRB's are Mevotech. I hope they last a little while. They're made in the USA which is a good thing I hope. I didn't know about them when I bought them a while back. Anyhoo. We'll see.

Hahaha! Just noticed I uploaded a pic of my Hot Wheels 1970 Boss 302:lol: Also, the ball joint in the old LCA was shot to SH! T:eek: It was binding bad. And loose and wobbly. I'm surprised it hasn't popped out yet.
