What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Yeah, I know the SRB's are Mevotech. I hope they last a little while. They're made in the USA which is a good thing I hope. I didn't know about them when I bought them a while back. Anyhoo. We'll see.

Be sure and save the stock strut rod bushing washers. You'll need them in the future.

@thaywood, install looks good! Those are the same ones I put on my Mark a few months ago. All that rust in your pics makes me cringe! lol

Was there a reason you said that Doug? I was about to do my entire front end with all new parts, bushings and all so, if you have reasons for saying to keep an old washer, please let it be known lol. I'm going with MOOG everywhere possible and I guess Energy Suspension bushings, if they even make them for the front? I want it done right and Jamie did do mine right but it was back when he first got it or maybe before he got it. It's getting about time to make it all new up there ONE more time! Not twice. An alignment will follow!

terry, use motorcraft strut rod bushings at both the LCA and k member side. the motorcraft stuff is far superior and you don't get new washers. so keep the old ones.

Finally fixed my fuel issue.

I finally fixed my fuel start problem. Went ahead and replaced the fuel pump last night. Found out it wasn't the fuel pump, but the transfer hose between the pump and hat/manifold. Here's a couple of pics.

Fixed that for you.

I strongly recommend only using OEM bushings on both ends of the strut rods. I've tried poly replacements for the forward bushings and they don't last. Moog thermoplastic, no thanks.

Get the OEM bushings, they're pretty cheap, but the washers are no longer available, so if for some reason you don't use the OEM bushings now, save the washers, because you'll probably wish that you had pretty soon.

2 each of the following:

E9SZ3A140A - LCA
E9SZ3A140B - LCA
E9SZ3B271A - K-Member
F7SZ3A225AA - K-Member

Gotchya and thanks Doug and Chris. Motorcraft it will be! Any suggestion on where to get this stuff from or just go with rockauto?

i just went through a ford dealer. wasn't all that expensive really.

$36.79 for front lower ball joint, Motorcraft from rockauto.

Nothing offered by Motorcraft with the bushings from them. They have MOOG though. Haven't purchased anything yet, just looking right now. I might have to visit the Ford dealer before it's all over with because this will all be done once and right.

MOOG: Improved Design; Front To Frame but nothing by Motorcraft on these either. $33.99 + shipping

MOOG: $78.79 for lower left and same price for lower right. I wonder why no Motorcraft...

If you really just want to replace the ball joint (which I don't recommend unless you've got a big hydraulic press, and the LCA bushings are in good shape), try these:

It's usually much better/easier to just replace the LCA's.

Not just wanting to replace ball joints only. I want to do it all. Most of it anyway. No Doug, no hydraulic press in my garage lol. I want to do the uppers, lowers and whatever else that needs to be done. The only problem I'm having really is when moving slowly across a parking lot, I can hear a slight clunking sound on the right side but it's nothing to be scared of but I know it can be quiet with some new stuff. Then have it aligned. Lincoln will align it when it's all completed.

Currently, everything looks like this on both sides. Sorry I don't have more pics to look at but I will get some of both sides this week.

I have a million pics but cannot figure out how to post them. thaywood told me how to do it but I'm barely computer literate. There are several pics of it from when the previous owner posted it for sale here. His name is rossco.

Rich, I know you have a photobucket account. Upload them on there and once done, go to the pic and hover the pointer over the pic and an additional box will pop up. Choose bottom link in box, left click once and then copy it. Paste that link here and then the pic will post when you click submit. Come on TV man. :p

Terry, you're giving me too much credit! I don't have a photobucket acct. :(

+1, and its a great way to just back them up too, in case your hard drive ever crashes. I've had a computer crash and 3 phones go brain dead -mostly just my old IPhones, when all of the suddon it wants to be hooked to iTunes to be restored- I rarely backed my phones up :( but thanks to photobucket, I never lost a pic

I've got this phone set to upload pics automatically in case I forget :p.. gotta be careful with personal pics thou. You can set photobucket up for public viewing or keep it all locked

Anyone got a good place to source a tr 3650? Im needing the 05+ one right? they have the remote shifter. Thinking manual swap and wondering where to get a trans.
