What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

My sister called this morning. The water pump's gone on her '05 Exploder. Looks like I'm gonna be fixing yet another vehicle...I should start charging for this shyte...

When you get done you can swap the timing cover gasket on my 99 :)

Just keep a mental note of it for when you need help with something. ;)

Hey, you remember when I.....

craigslist "find"

Is this the "China Blue" color on this Mark? I have a couple of family reasons to visit the Portland/Salem OR area. This could be one also!

Washed my car yesterday to remove all the green pollen that had settled on it...I need a garage, and a lift, and another Mark VIII and ...etc etc!

You and me both!

Also found out today that the power steering pump may not be shot on the Exploder after all. I had a brain fart apparently. I put "Type F" transmission fluid in it when I got it all put back together because thet's what I was always used to puttin in Ford power steering pumps. I went by my friend's shop this morning to pick up another pump and we started talking and he said I should have used Mercon V fluid because Type F will make it whine. Well, I'm going to drain out the "F" tomorrow and refill it with Mercon V and see what happens. If it quiets down, I'm good to go. If not, I'll be installing the new pump. Either way, I'm getting the Exploder roadworthy tomorrow so I can get my damn Lincoln back!!!

what did I do? replaced the upper shock mount which I broke the stud on a few days ago; Eddie sent me his prototype for the cost of s/h...$5...heckuva guy
---
also noticed that the driver's seat in The White One is missing the back rest controller; how do I fix it?
this photo is of an extra seat I have, which is not the right color btw

replace the switch
93-98 the same?
---
for all intensive purposes the seat (with the broken controller) is totaled, I can take a switch from another seat (like my extra one, but then it's defective...or find a trashed seat with a good sw.

I plan on doing this next weekend (if it doesn't rain), can't come up with one by then, was hoping you guy's could enlighten me but....
I'm sure someone can expand on it...I haven't done all that work (yet) so I can't advise; that flea bay seller is in Wisc, shipping should be quick...when I finally got around to buying a factory manual, about 95% of my questions were right there in the book...funny how that works

Can't buy anything off e-bay....no paypal account.
$300 in this so far counting tools. Trying to keep the cost down. :)

Worked on Mark I last sold....Hmmm

So when I sold my '98 to an acquaintance I made the mistake of telling him anything go's wrong call me cause I can always figure it out

So his Baby Momma was driving it with his daughters to her sisters house and the car refused to start showing the PATS light. She saw the Check engine light while trying to start it and had some people look at it and try to jump start it to no avail.

I got to it 3 days later and with my jump box, disconnected the battery and started it up. Not sure why she cause the PATS light to come on

have headers, comp cams 106100

re; seat sw., I wonder if I could use the one that's on the pass side?..or what other Ford/Linc cars use the same part...guess I'll call the dealer to get a part # and see if they'll cross reference it

if not i have working switches from my 96 with a saddle interior. shoot me a text.

took a look at my spare seat.....I think I'll just swap front seats instead of trying to repair the one that's in the car now

pulled the 5000k hid's out of the high beams in The Brown One for use as low beams in the The White One; both cars will use halogens for high beams- better for flashing...saved $60

You should PM someone with parts laying around...

ignition problem

Nothing today...but on Th I assisted Jay Richmond in putting in new inner and outer rear UCA's on the D side. We only had difficulty with the inner bushing and took it to a Midas shop and had them press it out. We also replaced the plug wires w a set I got from Rock Auto. The car ran great on the way home, a lot less noise from the rear and no "clunk" going over speed bumps! We plan on doing the p-side also after I order the bushings. I was easy on the peddle and on my drive from Columbia to Charlotte I was getting 31 mg! I was pleased as punch w the day!

So...yesterday morning, sat, I go out to start the car and no power at all...I left the parking lights on, so I put my tcharger on the battery(1 yr old) and after a couple of hours had enough charge to try...still nothing. Long story short... I still haven't diagnosed what is going on. The OBC runs through it's sequence but it sounds as if the starter is not getting juice...all the fuses in IP and in the distribution box are ok...I here a clicking of the starter relay which is "behind" the glove box. So not sure what is up...(?). Will have to start at square one "tomorrow". If anybody has any suggestions on trouble shooting this one I would appreciate it! That would be great! thanks in advance
