What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

If you're not replacing the Washer bottle level sensor, just unplug the sensor and stick a Mini-fuse (I used a 10amp) and very simply stick it in the wire harness plug. They fit in no problem.
Easy access to that plug is thru the headlight cover, just remove that and you can see the bottle, you'll see the pump (a little black cylinder tucked into a crevice in the bottle) unplug the other and shove a fuse in the harness, no more Low Level Induction

Good tip, never heard of doing it done that way.

I fixed mine this last spring, was going to just use a piece of wire to jump from one end of the connector to the other but decided to just chop off the connector and solder them together. It was sooo nice to get that annoying warning gone after dealing with it all winter long.

Wonderful! No excuse, now I have to work on my car tomorrow

Did a new drivers upper control arm
Makes me mad cause both scp uppers failed with maybe 15k on them.
And thanks to sap I got off my ass and put a fuse in the washer bottle sensor
He made me feel very lazy with how easy this fix is
O this was on the daily 95 mark

Yup, I have said many times SCP sucks. I only got a few thousand miles on mine before they failed and then he refused to stand behind his product like he assured me he would.
Fock Bill and SCP. Never get another dime from me.

looks clean, like that color....on air?

Thanks. Had it painted about a month ago, was supposed to be repainted the original color, but its way off. And not on air, previous owner put coils on it

Not that I'm trying to defend SCP but last LSC I had I put one Moog UCA that looked like the stock one on it from AutoZone.

10k it and the boot looked like it had 100k on it

AZ said bring it in and we will replace it but I just sold the car rather than replace the drivers side again.

Forgot this is all the parts put on at 80k then 127k I pulled them to for replacement.

This is just 2 years on Moog/TRW parts!

Don't see many cordovan houses. The silver one has to go, it doesn't go with all that red. I'm surprised nobody's interested in it. It's in great shape all around. Must be the wrong color. I'm getting tired of playing car jockey. Always want the one in the back.

The same thing people think about all people that drive Lincolns, he's a drug dealer

every first date I've had in my Mark VIII, the chick eventually says, "isn't this a black man's car?"
My answer is always the same, "I'm black, what's your point?"

took off the steering column cover

I need to do that one of these days!
this is the second time I've done it. Easy peasy, pull the covers under the dash, pull the underside column cover, push in button to pull key cylinder, pull off upper cover, 2 torx for the mf sw, snip the r/w and r/y...put em all in a big butt (10-12) connector, done

It looks like you should be able to do that without dropping the column as long as you can find the wires....or am I wrong?

no dropping the column, just remove covers and mf switch, splice wires..key cyl must be removed to remove upper cover, that link is for the complete write up with photos

Bookmarked...I'm gonna have to do this soon, look's easy enough.

Just wanted to come back again and say that I still love my car. 3 years and 7 months and I have replaced the alternator. I bought a battery too but that was because I really wanted a bigger one in there. I can't complain! Other money has been spent on it but that was just maintenance stuff and new things that I should never need again.

People run around in their $400-$500 a month cars and that don't include the high dollar insurance they have to pay. I prefer to drive free and just pay for gas and liability insurance. Driving to the store isn't worth all that to me. I'll get there just as good as they do and I bet I'll be more comfortable too.
