Went to get in the mk today and the remote didn't work! Tried the button pad and nothing. Gained entry using the key and no start, dome lights or nothing. I thought WTH! New battery and alt what could be the problem. Hooked jumper cables up to it and the head light's came on! I thought hhmmm...the wifey's been sneaking it out! She did a hell of a job parking it so I wouldn't know she was driving it, except the fact she left the headlight's on and the heater on full blast.
I guess I'll have to talk to her about that later.
She had her chance with this car....now it's mine! There's 3 vehicles in the driveway and she sneak's out the VIII. Now that it run's like new and the interior is in almost new condition...she want's back in.
Am I being unreasonable that I don't want her driving it? Her ride is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, looks and rides like new and she take's the VIII because...well you guy's know why...you just can't keep your hand's off it...:)

Doesn't make sence why your SCIL didn't time out after 15 minutes and kill power to everything that was left on

It does for the interior lights. Is it suppose to for the head lights also? I have the auto lamp function shut off. She turned the head light switch on and I guess when she got out she didn't notice the DING DING DING, your fricking lights are on DING'R! Dam...you can hear that thing 15 feet away with the doors closed!

More important than the Ding Ding Ding... is those headlights that she left on make LIGHT which you'd think she'd SEE
If you don't want her driving it, take her key away and tell her No. If that doesn't work, try this..

She doesn't have a key, swiped mine. :) She said it was dark when she left and light when she got back. What baffle's me is the DING DING DING. How can you not hear that

Well, in my case... because this

Pulled My Mark out to make room to work on my T. Pulled the engine and everything thing else needing a rebuild. Then I promptly put my mark back in the garage after the T left for storage.

Why do they call it the blend door? It's only function is to allow warmer water through the heater core, right? In my old cars they call it a Ramco valve. Has anyone discovered a permanent fix? I've seen the plumbing sleeve and slotted end repair how-to's, but surely someone has a definitive and permanent fix? I cannot be doing this obscene job again in this life. I guess its only fitting that this happens near All-Hallowed-Eve. Only someone staring at his last go-round would do this on purpose.

there is no valve, the heater core has full flow at all times.

the door directs and handles the "blending" of the hot and cold air.

The blend door directs air flow from the fan to blow over the Heater Core, or the Evaporator core , which determs if you get warm air, or cold air
Nothing to do with coolant flow
There is no permanent fix for anything ...ever.

Took My mark to school today and put it on the alignment rack to align it, got everything adjusted except drivers toe. Spent a half hour trying to get the jam nut loose:mad: ended up heating it up and melting a candle on the threads and then letting it cool and it broke loose , only to find out the inner was seized in the outer. Heated it multiple times and still no go, going to replace inner and outer tie rods on Wednesday and get everything in specification. Great learning experience doing my first alignment though:D

The old girl is lookin purdy good now with a inexpensive painting( facelift) and some newer cleaner headlights (cataract surgery)...I can finally see in the dark! Really appreciate all the help I have gotten on this forum!

I am not sure I want to total up what I have spent in the last 18 or so months since my Dad passed, however, I think he would be tickled to death :)rolleyes::rolleyes:) to see his "last car" in its current condition..and to know it has been my faithful daily driver for abt 30k miles1028131426 (2).jpg1028131425.jpg1024131614a.jpg. How come the 1st one look's like a white car and the rest don't??

Orange street lights or w/e color they are. My car has a freshly buffed hood and the pearl is really glowing now so, those funny colored lights hold all the colors that reflect off it.

The car is being lit by a street light in that shot

You got it!

Looks good Scott! I'm glad you decided to get it painted!

Sorry. I was replying to the guys who said the blend door is not permanently fixable, not commenting on your car. The context was wrong. Your car looks great.

Does anyone have a good working air ride compressor? I don't have any money but I still have lots of parts on the 97 LSC that I would be more than willing to trade for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a bunch of them. I will be back home from New Jersey Sunday. I can ship one out Monday. The 95 killed the one from the 97 already??

Thanks! That's great! Yep, killed it. But it did have 216k miles on it already. So I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Plus with the slowly leaking rear bags it was working overtime.
