What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

i finally washed my car which needed to be done before the mark VIII meet. and the water stains on it were horrible. using my blackfire polish applied by hand didnt touch them. so, what i didnt feel like doing in my 95 degree shop was pulled out the mequiars electric d.a and the meguiars m-205 and spent 6 hot sweaty uncomfortable hours freshening up the paint again. at least now since having it professionally done i can keep up on it fairly easy. i wish i would have done this before the meet though my car looked like ass at the meet. now its like black glass again!

I drove to Atlanta and bought that Toreador Red '97 Base I saw on Craigslist
It has a few nicks and scrapes but it looks pretty good. The console lid and the ashtray and cup holder need replaced but I have the ashtray/cup holder. I need a console lid.

repainted the Cobra intake, replace the mismatched bolts on the intake cover with some nice new cap screws, painted the back brake calipers black. Noticed one of the alum. spacer rings was missing from the last tire balance, and replaced it, rides a lot smoother now, and yet another broken lug bolt

critical mass ul 800 v2 supposed to have 240 plus rms but keeps going into alarm at about half way up ! pissing me off i know everything is wired right but i am wondering if the connectors are not getting the power or ground it should be getting , for such an expensive amp the connectors are not really made for 4 gauge wire!

Took off the timing cover expecting to see a bad guide and instead found a cracked sensor interrupter ring. Been smacking the cam angle sensor I think. Well the sensor to me looks like the crank angle sensor but the ring is called camshaft sensor inerrupter.

Waxed the '96. Cleaned it with Turtle Wax Ice car wash and polished with Maguires Mirror Glaze cleaner/wax, then waxed again with Turtle Wax Ice. Shines like new money!

On a side note, went outside this morning to find that I had two flat tires on my Explorer. The right rear has what looks like a cut in the sidewall about an inch long. The right front is just flat. Don't know why. Can't afford new tires. There goes my spare car for a while. Life sucks. :(

had a busy weekend, actually did some stuff to the car!
in preparation for boscobel i did
oil change
air filter
fuel filter
serp belt
spark plugs
both ft sway bar links
cleaned and rebuilt my vent solenoid
and ground off all the rust on the lower 1/4 panels and repainted them, looks great for a rattle can job (thanks MWB rattle can master)
then drove it 2 hours home :)
:ninja edit: installed another set of cobrastars

Painted and replaced driver's door handle, tightened lower shock bolt (was wondering what that rattle was), and washed it. Now to get rid of the piss poor vatozone srb

I need some touch-up paint for my '96. Bright toreador red. Paint code JB. Wal-Mart doesn't have it. Advance Auto doesn't have it. AutoZone doesn't have it. O'Riley's doesn't have it. CarQuest doesn't have it. PepBoys doesn't have it. Ford Motor Company can't get it. Anybody got a bottle or can of the stuff? Thanks.

thaywood autozone and advance here carries toreador red i have bought many cans of it to do door handles and stuff then i spray real clear over it with a gun and its a perfect match. just a fyi gm used toreador red on a ton of their vehicles too, its almost a dead match to fords toreador red, if you are only doing small areas or small trim use it, i have used gm's version too works fine. duplicolor makes it, both the ford and gm toreador red in the small rattle cans.

Changed oil in the tranny. 3.5 quarts to do a complete flush. Suck it you auto bastards. :D

also thay. Go to a body shop and have them mix you a pint.

Huh?????

The fill hole in the side won't let me put more than that in. I was thinking that I had a throwout bearing chattering but it was the input shaft bearing. Gonna have to step up to a 6 speed in the future. I'm tried of these weak single overdrive boxes.

Washed the 98 and through some wheels on it until I find the black one's I like.

These are some Verde Chaos 18" I found on CL a couple weeks ago.

I'll give the Toreador and clearcoat a shot. But I've tried Toreador before and it's too dark. Mine's "Bright" Torreador. Compared to "regular" Toreador, it's several shades lighter. But still, i'll try it. I just have a couple of chips here and there that I need to touch up. Thanks for the info.:)

i got my touch up and rattle can t/r at pepboys and it is dead on..So far i've only rattled the drivers side and pass side door handels.. the touchup was abit darker then t/r

Mine is getting the drivers side rocker fixed. Should be done tomorrow afternoon.

took the car to a buddies to have him check out the stereo and run spl test on it, found out ports are way too smaLL , hit 144.1 at 44 hrtz with it like that , he thinks with a top firing box and side firing port with should hit above 150 which will be a state record in my class.

Installed my new Adrenaline Compressor and stystem from American Air Suspension today ... Cool !!!!

Oh and change the Grill in my 93 ... Thanks GMAN for the Bone yard search ...

Installed a new set message center buttons on my '96 today. The one I got from ebay was from a '95 model and didn't work at first, so I took the button panel off the '95 and put in in the housing from the '96 and it works fine now. Hopefully it'll last a little longer. And it's pretty cool because the buttons are black and my interior is grey. It's a nice contrast as opposed to the "sea of grey".
