What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

reinstalled my fixed and cleaned speaker bezel. It had smoked duck gumbo on it. Installed bearings on the trac-lock I am rebuilding

I don't even wanna know why you have open containers of duck gumbo in the car

finally did it

converted my m8 to a manual trans. Too much fun! My brother Custom fabbed a clutch/brake pedal assembly that has the master cyl on the inside of the firewall (reverse actuated) so the only thing going through the firewall is the hyd hose to the slave cyl and the resvoir hose. resovoir is mounted close to the front of the engine. Also made a bolt on bracket for the slave cyl. (no welding on the trans) Im back overseas and my brother hasnt taken any pics yet. He wants to buy a cadcam plasma cutter and turn out another assembly for testing.

Jerks! Curiosity, what does a trac loc run/cost to have built or build yourself?
I bought mine for $60. Its out of a 93 Cobra and was rebuilt before I bought it with zero miles and an extra clutch on each side to have better bite.

Pulled the next heart

another fun day at the salvage yard, I scored this 135k motor for $135, I'm debating on the rebuild or not, haven't pulled the covers yet but it had nice compression

Bill, thank you so much for coming out to help, I wouldn't have finished getting it out on time. It's nice to know I have an awsome best friend..

Dude I'm thinkin bout media-blasting the whole thing..definatly need to do a serious scrub down at the least...and just rebuild mine in the spring

No problem mang.

Heeeeh. Sleepy time.

went to the unit today and pulled the cpu, j/w how you guys with chips cleaned the underside of the ecm, do you use contact cleaner or anything, i can't get a rag under there, the top side is clean.

i also did another round on the bolt from hell that is holding up me from getting anything done to my rear subframe project.... 2 more drill bit bit the dust today

wait.......................did you figure out how to post pics from your iphone or are you in lasers lap

Photobucket app :) no lap dances from me, but I'm gonna have to buy him one soon..:)

Started wet sanding the headlights on the '97 LSC yesterday. It's gonna take some elbow grease to get all that oxidation off those lenses. What's the proper procedure for this and what kind of sandpaper do most of you guys use? I started with 2000 grit and noticed a difference after a few minutes of wet sanding.

Ive done 600/800/1500 and then buffed and it turned out OK but they are ruff again already. I am gonna try Dans method of 400/600/1000 then buff cause the ones he just did look like brand new!

All I did today was wash the car, re-route the vent for the EVAP tanks in hopes of eliminating that damn fuel smell. After that I replaced the tensioner as mine was going bad.

Replaced rear bearings. When I got to the machine shop to press in/out the bearings the passengers side wouldn't come out and the machine shop called for me to come down to approve adding more pressure on the spindle. I asked him how much pressure he was at and he said 10 tons. He didn't think that the spindle would handle more and would crack and of course he said that he did not want to buy me one but I said what to I have to lose but a spindle. He got it out and everything worked out just fine.

Picked up some new in box Moog LCA's from another board new for $90. The guy had sold his car and no longer needed them. I got lucky and responded first.

got new rear tires BF Goodrich G Force Sport P225/55/17, got new Cobra hub rings for the front, getting the rest next....if I had a paycheck like some certain member on I would have bought all four

Brought my diff down to the Ford dealer my friends a tech at. We installed 4.10s and a trac lock. Threw it under my car after wards........Love the 4.10s, glad I went with them over 3.73's
