What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Thanks! That's great! Yep, killed it. But it did have 216k miles on it already. So I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Plus with the slowly leaking rear bags it was working overtime.

216K! That's good! I replaced my originals at 175K, and I took good care of her! (front bags and compressor, replaced). Rear bag's are still in there! 206K now and counting down....lol.

air compressor

Does anyone have a good working air ride compressor? I don't have any money but I still have lots of parts on the 97 LSC that I would be more than willing to trade for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thaywood- you have helped me with some info. in the past. I converted my suspension a few month ago. It was probably just the relay but after 3 weeks of headaches, I threw in the towel. The compressor runs fine, the only thing you might notice is on one of the power wires it has a little bit of melted insulation. From a 97, never had an endless leaking problem so nevr over worked. I would like to help and do not really want anything for it except compensation to send it to you. I am in New York. Up to you pump runs I have had two gen 1s and driven them 200,000 miles and they never gave me as much trouble as this one gen 2 ( Bronx car maybe had a hard life, got it 3 years ago with 65k) Now dealing with HID. wish me luck on conv. kit ( Blazing HID )

No, it's for those of us that are stupid enough to drive these in the winter. It helps keep the doors from freezing shut, emphasis on "Helps".

Gotta do whatcha gotta do. Hopefully they'll be well taken care of.

wouldnt a coating of mineral oil or cooking oil on the seals do better at preventing that

Oh yea he'll take care of them, after spending $700 I'd hope he would lol..theyll be going on a portfolio blue on blue 94, saw the car this weekend and its a nice car, should look good. I've got plans in the making which is why I said 20 spokes.."for now".

And on a side note..THANK GOD I don't have to deal with frozen doors and locks anymore..uhg man that sucked for the past two years.

I'd imagine they would wear off quickly. Clear silicone spray is more tolerant of the elements and won't leave residue.

True, although I live in Alabama and don't have to use it, silicone is the way to go for long lasting results.

I would assume that you can't get that part new.
You would need to find someone willing to part out a shifter assembly.
If interested I'll look at my parts inventory and see if I have one to part out, I should just need to make sure.

So are beaters for winter use..

Tis a nice day today, i think I'll take mine out for a cruise before the bad weather hits in a month or so..

Why do they call it the blend door? It's only function is to allow warmer water through the heater core, right? In my old cars they call it a Ramco valve. Has anyone discovered a permanent fix? I've seen the plumbing sleeve and slotted end repair how-to's, but surely someone has a definitive and permanent fix? I cannot be doing this obscene job again in this life. I guess its only fitting that this happens near All-Hallowed-Eve. Only someone staring at his last go-round would do this on purpose.

This is supposed to be the fix and I have done it twice on the 2 second gens that I own (Once for each). Have not had them go bad after I did the repair but I am talking the elongating the hole into a slot on the bar. Not repair the broken plastic rod, I bought a new blender door motor assembly off of Amazon on my last repair.

fixin to remove my air compressor;
---after doing a small amount of searching, it looks like I'll need to remove front bumper fascia, anyone disagree?

Remove the inner fender liner on the passenger side wheel well and go in though there.
