What does everyone do in the snow?

i drove mine with my 19s all winter last year. it was my only car so had to and i loaned my 18 year old cousin my factory wheels. just cleaned my wheels alot and was careful. only had an issue once when it was snowing and i was on some sketchy back roads after snowboarding. but it was ok. stock rims with bfgs were always awesome for me, mine is manual so it has no traction control

I do not have traction control in my LS but have driven an LS with traction control in the winter here and it made a big difference. I felt confident with it in the snow. I'm in Minnesota and I do run two sets of tires/wheels because of no traction control. But with all seasons and traction control I think you would be good.

You might want to put some weight in the trunk and try that before spending and speculating if winter tires are the route to go. If you do go with winter tires, think twice about the Blizzaks. They are good for stopping and getting around in the winter, but the ride is very very mushy. I can't stand them on the car as handling is lost with those tires.

As long as you use common sense some good All Season tires will suffice. The LS handled better than I thought it would my first winter with it. But a little weight in the trunk certainly won't hurt.

Also it is good to learn SST and use it as a tool for braking when it is really icy. And someone already mentioned using the Advancetrac button to your advantage by turning it off only to get moving if you end up stuck. However I wouldn't recommend leaving it off all the time.

I'm really curious as to how these things do in the snow.

do you know how well your mark does in the snow, well thats about how good your LS will do (i actually think that my mark did a little better than the LS does)

Snow is the reason I'm keeping my 1996 Ford Explorer. Take it up to the mountain snowboarding and when we do get snow I'll drive it to work.

Anyway onto my point, what does everyone do in the snow?

Usually?....

How much... LSD did you ingest before painting that truck, again?

lmao. That's the previous owner's artwork there. Picked up the truck for about the same price as a set of snow tires. But I've never seen snow tires give 100% protection from road salt on any car. :D

Anyone run the snow tires year round? I know there really soft and would wear fast just didnt know how fast. Might just try to get by this winter on the wheels I have now and see how it is.

Snow tires ... you don't live far enough north ...

Congrats on your new ride.

The car handles very well in the snow and is predictable. It really comes down to knowing your vehicle.

Just put on a set of good all season tires and you will be fine.

I like this guy and his post ...

Usually the lifted jeep, but Ive been building a 71 International Travel All 4x4, so I may be using it this winter....

Mark goes in the garage and becomes the winter project.

The mark gets it's own 1/2 of the shop that's heated. I drive my truck it's the baby version of 94m5's truck!(1998 red ford f250 LD)
