What's the fastest you've driven your Mark VIII?

125 in the 94 but had vibration, 115 in the 97 but nowhere near the top (didn't feel like jail time). I got caught going 98 in a 60 by the Virginia State police and was let go last year:D.

Oh well, sucks to be you. GPS verified by the NAV deck and phone. With no limiter a Mark can reach 150 pretty easily all else being stock (LSC). Then just do a few add ons like exhust, remove cats, tune and underdrive plus..... oh yeah, A BLOWER and the cars aerodynamics will allow for 172 before 415 crank HP cant push it any more.

And why do people say "no offense" right before they say something to offend? Its like saying "With all due respect" when you are about to disrespect someone.

i not saying your a liar, its just 172 mph is a pretty healthy clip, and with a blower and not saying it impossible, i was just sceptical if you actually drove it that fast. And where? Also very true about the "with all do respect" disrespect thing lol

130. The fastest rolling radar verified speed would be 114 in a 55 according to Sandovol County Sheriffs Deputies.

Let me be honest with you........ that usually is followed by a lie.

Anyway, cant tell you cause that would be incriminating. So lets just say it was a closed 3 mile section of road thats arrow straight and has been seen by a couple members on here. :D
And Sapper can kinda verify. He was still planted in the seat when I hit 150 with him in it.

And thats not the fastest I ever went. I did 187 in a Henessy Venom Viper before and can tell ya they do better at 170 then the Mark did. Marks need more dampening and maybe a belly pan........ and a spoiler would be nice.
At 160 the tail likes to dance a little and I wont be trying it again any time soon.

On Monday on I-75 from Cape Coral to St Petersburg I was running at average 100mph. But at times on a long divide with no potential interuption from johnny law in the median, I would hit 110-115 with no problem. But as I am a little older and wiser, I do not over do it or drive too long at that speed.

172 is realistic with a blower.

Hell I hit 158 with a low compression n/a motor.

Now, add another 1.6 liters two turbos and another 1200 lbs of weight, and I've seen 119... or so I read once. But not in a Mark, and that's another story.

340 miles per second= 1224000 mph at that speed you would go around the world roughly 49 times an hour

That was why I responded with an equally smartass comment of "not even in orbit".

I have gone 110 with flat airride heading to Jamie's shop. I was on the skyway bridge. I've been known to be a bit stupid if noone is on the road with me and I'm alone in the car.

When I had my '98 trans am, I was somewhat more stupid, but I was also a younger version of the idiot I am today.

Speed

128 GPS verified. Let offf before speed limiter kicked in. After chip and 3.73's this month, who knows?

148mph in my early build date 93. gps verified. i took a picture of it. lemme find it. oh and it was on a "closed" stretch of highway. ive gone 187mph but in the passenger seat in a built and i mean BUILT 98 catfish ss

laser has 3.73s (i think) and almost 400 hp at the wheels. i believe it..

There is not doubt about there being enough HP it just seems that with 3:73 gears and a 4 speed auto you would run out of RPM's before that speed ??? . Wonder if it was geared differant at the time ???

Nope, same gears it has now. I was just past 5000 rpm, I think 5100-5200 was indicated.

I sat and figured it out once before and if memory serves with my 3.73 gears and tire size and the 4th ratio if the car had the HP to push it then it should redline (6500) around 220 mph. :D

No way in hell you hit 172 MPH on only a 3 mile stretch of road and were able to brake. Mathematically impossible with your bad ass car.
