There are many shops that can fix your wheel. Several are listed in the back of the big car magazines. Here's one you may find helpful

As for recourse from the state, you'll have to be proactive, persistent, and patient. I had a friend who got rear-ended by a city dumptruck, and it took months to get reimbursed for the damage to his car, not to mention many phone calls.

So. Did you put amps or nitrous in the trunk tirewell? :D
 
Maybe somone will be nice (LVC member) and let you borrow there spare until you get your new rim.

This would be my answer also. You have to know someone else with a LS or contact a FLM dealer and ask them if you can borrow a spare that is in a used LS. I know my FLM dealer would loan it out to me. Well good luck!

Hey sorry to hear about your car. I hit a pothole in my vette and bent the rim bad. Called the city and told them where it was, they sent me a claim form and I got the money for a rim and alignment within a few weeks. I'm sure the city has some type of similar program.
 
If the rim is bent as bad as you say it is, I wouldn't trust the repair for all the tea in China...even if you could find someone willing to attempt it. Buy a new wheel....you'll feel a lot better about it.

Looks like Manning's luck has run out again. Amazing how we can't seem to get to the big one. I really wonder why it is that when he gets to this point, someone is able to figure out that offense and shut them down. But he has damage control to do this time....his post game comments were way out of line.

I can't believe their kicker missed. But justice was served. That was the worst call I have ever seen in my life when they reversed that pick. What in the world could they have possible been thinking? I can't wait to see what the league head of officials has to say about that one on the NFL Network this week.

Give Pittsburg their due. They came loaded in every way. And a great tackle...

Should be one helluva game in Denver Sunday.
 
i'm sure you can get the rim fixed. if you can't find a local place you will have to mail it out. but if the rim is just bent you could try to hammer it back into shape (or near it) if you get lucky it will hold air an you can get the car home slowly. if you get really lucky it will hold for good and you can balance it out.

also I am sure you can find a rim and tire (at a local junk yard or shop or freind) that will fit the lug pattern and clearence. (ask the guys on this forum which rims will fit, cougar?, thunderbird?) then just drive it home slow.

if you know someone with AAA have them come with you to the gas station and call AAA to tow the car back home (might want to ask for a flat bed) pretend like you were driving together and it just happened. AAA will tow a car even if the passanger is the member.

lastly if the tire is shot and the rim is shot and you plan on buying new of both and home is close by just drive it home that way (don't go fast though)

UPDATE: so i went to the site to take a pic after i called MODOT 3 times today. so i took a pic and ran to the sidewalk and BAM! another car hit it so i went over to talk to him and give him all the info on MODOT and told him what to say. the kid didnt know how to change a spare so i told him to wait and ill be back with my jack. so i go to where my car is (down the street) and get my jack and im heading back and look across the street and theres another guy outside of his car so i go over there and take a pic and gave him all the info. too. THEN im changing the guys tire and a lady pulls in behind us and SHE hit it too. 3 in 15 minutes. i called MODOT again and told the everything and they said well try to get someone out there. so tomorrow their risk management/ claims lady is calling me back. so wish me luck. Also i took the rim to the shop and they said 150 to fix it, but a new rim is 175 so looks like MODOT is paying for a new rim and tire. Do u think i have a good claim
 
also my car is in the bay at the shell station up on a lift and this station doesnt do any work in the bay so i can leave it there for as long as it takes. thank god.
 
I had this happed to me too!!!!!!! any one here knows were to call to file a claim in the LOS ANGELES area?!?! I hit a pothole on the freeway carpool lane and now one of my wheels is slightly bent and vibrates alot on the freeway and its driving me nuts!!! Those damn oversized wheels and low pros... are f****ng easy to bend. :(
 
Go to the California DMV Web site; they'll probably have information on what you need to do, and probably will have the contact info.
 
so i just drobe by it after bowling, and it was filled. but theres 2 more past it that are jsut as big
 
Claims for Road Hazard Damage depend entirely on the State Liability Laws in your state. Some claim complete immunity, some allow claims after they have been notified of the Hazard. Good Luck on your claim.
 
so modot called today and i have to send them an estimate and write down what happened. so im guessing itll take a while,

also i was thinking last night when i was driving my moms tausus wagon. doesnt the tauraus have the same wheel pattern. so cant i put her spare on the ls for now.

Hmm...if it were for a shorter period of time I would let you borrow my spare. I'm not far from you. But I'm kinda gunshy about long term since some sh!tbag borrowed the spare in my GMC and never returned it...if I ever see him again...
 
will a rim from a 93 tauruas fit. ive got a friend who has a beater that doesnt run and says hell give me his rims for a while off it.
