Solved after much research and stress. I had disconnected the shifter from the transmission. When it was reconnected all of the problems were magically resolved. The starter cranked the engine and everything worked properly. Too bad it took me a long day to solve the puzzle.

Thanks, I'll recheck all the fuses with a meter and make sure that there no bad fuses. I'm also going to check continuity for the wires leading out of the OBD 2 port. You also suggested we check using another code reader and sure enough it won't read anything.

The 2000-2002 LS is mechanically based on the Jaguar XJ6 and XJ8. Does anyone know if the A/C condenser from the Jaguar is a direct replacement for the LS condenser? I have an opportunity to buy a Jag condenser for a decent price but am not certain it will fit in my LS.

Good find! There is a fiberglass piece that carries the wiring harness across the front of the car. It sits behind the bumper under the rad. Can you get it for me? How did the front bumper cover and A/C condenser look?
